So, at Thanksgiving one of my relatives and I were talking about the unhealthy diets that are landing people in the hospital. She told me that a doctor friend of hers was examining a morbidly obese woman and found a moldy twinkie under her breast. He picked out the twinkie, held it up and told the woman that this type of eating was the cause of her problems.
I kid you not.
Ugh... used to constantly dig food scraps, even whole food out of several morbidly obese, elderly NH patients' crevices and bedding who had habits of hoarding snacks.
Another gross patient I had was a 91-year-old lady who dipped snuff and spat or drooled the juice all over her clothing and bedding. Reee-pulsive.
the lady with the watermelon seeds was really cute. she was a very dark skinned black woman who probably was pushing about 500 lbs. we found some hardened little black areas in between her breasts which when examined by the dr, who first thought they were keloids, then realized they had little tiny sprouts on the end. she asked the pt "ma'im, have you been eating watermelon?" and she was like "good lawd, i ain't had watermelons since lass year!"
I read something once about a 900-lb. woman who was brought into the hospital with, among other things, a dead kitten under one breast.:barf01: I've got a cast-iron stomach, but that one just about made me retch.......can you imagine the SMELL??!!
I've never seen anything quite that dramatic, but when I worked at the local hospital years ago, we had a frequent flyer who weighed about 650 lbs. One time he came in with maggots in the wounds in his fat folds..........sure, they did a good job of debridement, but the sight (and aroma) was enough to turn even my stomach. BLECH!!
Wait, wait, wait...a dead kitten?? Oh, I am getting dizzy...

I guess that answered any questions on the last time she bathed...
there is another thread about obese travelers given an extra seat on canadian airlines..i hope i don't get a seat near one of these mentioned
about the head, an ambulance responded to a mva and one of the dead had been decapitated...they looked around for the head and finally had to get down in a water filled ditch and feel around until they found it..
