Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Once I found out it was only worth 10 points--I gave up.....when in doubt--ask a Librarian.... Was not a question I had in my spirituality class

I would have made the same decision in that situation, but was just wondering where it was pulled from. I have this class in the future so I will do some causal surfing to find it.

You know how you can open the PM part of your subscription? Go to the general nursing or student nursing forum and post some advice or something. You only need 4-5 more posts!! :)

Ahhh, but do they need to be substantive posts?? :cheeky:

I think I just gagged!

Personhood grid.... I am in Spirituality right now, its a fairly easy assignment. Some of the personhood variables are not in the assigned text, nor in the course material. So, the personhood variables have to be found online. One thing to remember is that some of the spirituality assignments build upon one another. I ended up using the personhood grid on the paper due for that week. Overall, this assignment is pretty easy, but you have to think outside of the box.

That is exactly what I did this week. NOT good. I know my work wasn't tip top, but at lest I turned it in. 30 minutes before midnight too.

Patho is done! I am so excited. I have Trends, the Capstone and an elective. Seeing only two classes in the upcoming courses section makes me positively giddy!

This must be a great feeling, I have 24 units left... lol. I'm still looking up the mountain, taking one step at a time!

Oh my!!! LOL! Seriously am I the only one that asks myself prior to posting, is that substantive enough? Let me add one more line of dribble....

Miss you all...i have gone though some life changes, new employment, different environment. And I believe I have been kicked out of program while in constant communication with my advisor.

My new job is an awesome blessing but I had to take time off to learn my new position but school wouldn't cut me any real slack in taking more than off other than two weeks...the class was reasearch!!! That is way too much readin while the new job consists of the same... I don't know what to do at the moment. 😳 I think I want another advisor that's for sure. But I need to get over the feeling of being mislead.

Plus I am moving at the end of the month...😆

WOW, that's a LOT, I hope you are hanging in there :heartbeat:

Here's what I know for sure: Students are allowed two 60-day LOAs in a year, but you have to apply for it before the end of your current class. I did it twice, the first time I didn't fill out the form in a timely fashion (before end of class) and it was denied. But, for me, it didn't really matter because I'm self-pay/no financial aid, so when I was ready to come back in 57 days or whatever I just slid right back in and paid my $ for the next class. If you are receiving any type of financial aid, check with your SA to see if you have been disenrolled. I hope not, I have no idea what the next step is if that's the case

Weird I took off from May to November.....I'm paying out of pocket though...I was told it was different if 1 had student loans....Best of luck
