  1. 29 when I started My ADN, finished that at 31. Started and finished my RN-BSN at 36. Going to start my CRNA program at 37!
  2. No-emails yet. I really look forward to meeting and learning from you all!
  3. Congratulations to everyone that was accepted to Union's NA program! I've created a Facebook page for us all to network in order to make the transition out to Jackson a smooth experience. PM me for further details. For those of you that did not get in, keep your head up, I feel your pain & do not give up. I have also not been selected to a CRNA program after being interviewed. Feel free to PM me and I'll provide you as much advice as I can.
  4. I'm currently residing in Norcal and have never heard of anyone earning 423K as a RN, even if you literally live at the hospital, I don't really see this salary as being feasible. Bluebolt's salary assessment is pretty much on par for Bay area RN's. A friend of mine worked in Stanford's transplant OR & indicated he earned about 170K, but he was always oncall & worked loads of OT. I work in the Central Valley of CA & earn just over 100K without much OT at all. OT is usually available though, at a rate of about $1100 per shift, which is taxed at an absurd rate. Some of my coworkers have earned about 150-160K, from working a lot of extra shifts.
  5. 2025 is the date set by the AANA. Please see link for further details: AANA Announces Support of Doctorate for Entry into Nurse Anesthesia Practice by 2
  6. You can get your ADN [associates degree of nursing] at a junior college, which is about 3 years and this includes your prerequisites. Get into a ICU, then finish your BSN while working in a unit. The BSN is about a year long if you do it quickly, 1.5 years of you take your time. This is the map I followed to get into CRNA school. Remember to apply to a few schools, they are tough to get into. The thing is you have to be a RN to become a CRNA. You might consider the AA route, but AA's are restricted to a few states and have a more limited scope of practice.
  7. Hello Everyone, Its been awhile. I graduated from GCU this last March & I absolutely loved the program. If any of you were wondering, it is possible to get into CRNA school with a BSN from GCU. I am posting this because I could not find anything on the internet indicating if any GCU BSN grads had gotten into CRNA school. I'm sure some of us have gotten into CRNA school, but there are no posts or threads of anyone indicating that they got in. It was very difficult and competitive to get in and it took a lot of work, but YOU CAN DO IT!

  9. It's been a rough year and a half, but my wife and I finished up our BSN's through GCU with 4.0 GPA's. I'm not trying to brag, but motivate you all that have life pushing and pulling you in different directions. My wife was much more of a stud then me, she pushed out a baby during a 2 week break and kept on typing away. Keep in mind we also have 5 and 3 year old boys, including the baby. If we can do it, anyone can. I wouldn't say it's hard, but it certainly is time consuming but certainly worth it.
  10. Rob has some valid points.... I switch up classes on each instructor that switched up the rules. I have to admit there were some on the list that I stayed away from, but again, they made up their own guidelines. There is a recommended Stats instructor that is amazing though. I'm typing this as a finish up my capstone! Can't believe this endless road of staring at my computer and typing away has nearly come to a end!
  11. Hey Ro, I recommend getting your DQ out of the way real early in the week. At times I felt the DQ was just as comprehensive as the assignment(s) due for the week. In all of my classes I typically did all of the DQ's before the class even started, which lightens the load and if "life happens" then I have some wiggle room.
  12. I thought I was going to like Patho until I seen the DQ's were the longest EVERí ½í¸Ÿ
  13. Hello everyone. The time has come, all I have left is the capstone project, I was wondering if any of you can PM suggestions for some good capstone instructors? I took longer then most to finish, I took 2 week breaks between classes, but I feel as though it saved my sanity to do so. Thanks in Advance.

  15. Hello all....! I'm nearly done, i've only got 12 more units. Some classes are harder then others with more time commitments.... My biggest beef so far are of course the CLC group projects as well as teachers making up their own rules, which has been frustrating. I'm doing all of this coursework with 10 month old, 3 year old and 4 year old boys, as well as a comprehensive, online ICU orientation which is equivalent to doubling up classes due to time commitments... oh well what doesn't break you makes you stronger in the end. I was wondering if any of you can PM me recommended instructors for Public Health, Research & Capstone. Ex... who to take and/or who not to take.
