Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Heading into week 4 of Leadership and Vocation..... discussion topics done for this week and will start on the paper Monday. Getting psyched for the capstone. I have a couple good instructors but if you had a wonderful instructor please pass it along. I will be making a request this week.Has anyone received a letter from GCU that informs you that you qualify for a national honors society? Can't remember which one but of course they want money to enter. Anyone take them up on it. I did for my ADN but don't think that it helped me much. It did look good on my resume though.
Good luck with your capstone rob4546! So jealous that you are reaching the end - 3 more classes for me (including capstone) after this Ethics class.
i can't recall how much $$$ it was....think it was around $50...yep $50 https://www.alphachihonor.org/index.cfm/about-us/
Yea, it was $50. I can't find the paper right now but it did state that I will be contacted again. Might as well.... I have to find the paper they sent me to "apply" for graduation and pay my $150.00 I think. Can you say scam? they have you because they wont let you graduate unless you pay. That crap upsets me.
I haven't posted much but wanted to come on to say. . . FINISHED!!! I turned my capstone in on 11/22. Honestly that was the easiest class I took! Every paper was turned in early and I was relaxed throughout as opposed to the teeth gnashing I usually went through. It helped that there was no @%#!*^& CLC. Relax and enjoy the ride, rob3536. It is almost over!

Congratulations momtofore!!!! I see the BSN behind your name!!! Very cool!!!
I can't wait to start. I have heard that this class was a killer but I recently talked with a nurse from Med/Surg that recently finished and she stated that it wasn't a big deal. Either way I got my work schedule covered and will have plenty of time to get stuff done. Even if it doesn't take me that long I will still take the days so that I can enjoy the holidays before I have to start taking call regularly.

YAY! CONGRATS!
Rob4546,Look at it this way - if everyone else has completed Capstone, you can too! Just keep telling yourself "only 5 weeks and then DONE!!!
I am not worried per se, just plan for the worst and expect to be prepared. I figured if I take the 2 days off each week but don't need them then I could always call my supervisor and be working back into the daily schedule.
Funny thing is I am looking a little toward the capstone. Knowing that it is the end and it is on a subject that I am interested in, makes me a little excited. I am just tired and stress because I have been in school almost 5 years straight. I miss having free time and there are plenty of things I need to get done around the house. Funny thing is I saw today a streaming channel that streams only science documentaries for 2.99 a month. I found my educational outlet after I finish at GCU!!! I am a sucker for science documentaries (and history documentaries).

Yup, I got the letter as well! How much does membership cost?
With regards to my horrible CLC (I am in middle of fixing the paper but the "ding" of the email from allnurses was to hard to resist!), now I am really stressing because I rec'd my grade from my own paper that was due last week and instructor gave me a 93, which is the lowest I have rec'd on a paper in any class! She deducted points because I stated my personal resolution of the ethical dilemma in the conclusion of my paper as opposed to specifically stating it in the subsection where I used the ethical decision making model to resolve the dilemma. I listed all of the possible alternatives to the dilemma and ranked them from most desirable to least desirable, as the model calls for, and then stated which alternative I would choose. I figured that was the same as saying what my decision was. Oh well, not worth contacting the instructor...
Anyway, now I am stressing because my grade dropped to a 96 something and I fear that this CLC is so sucky that we could get a B. Plus, we have another portion of the CLC due next week and if we get a B on that as well, I don't want to wind up with a B for this class! Sucks that so much of the grade of this class is based upon CLC work.
So now I am scrambling to try to add some more substantive stuff to this crappo paper! LOL. I will have to keep you all posted as to what grade we wind up with on this paper. Unfortunately, this instructor takes forever to post grades.
Thanks everyone for "listening" and for the encouragement.
