Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
I got that email too...click on the link..takes me to the student portal....but don't see the survey?? I shall wait till I am done as well. Done with Trends, finished the last paper, all my DQs are done and replies too..record time for me..earliest before was Friday! Trying to get into Capstone mode and finish things early, lol Funny thing is, I somewhat enjoy doing the research and writing the paper..but takes me forever to get started, lol GL all.
Do you read all the discussion posts in the forum? I usually only read the responses to my posts, a few to make my responses, and everything the instructor posts.... I must be a slacker..
Ha no way, I don't read them all, I just hate seeing that number grow and grow knowing that all these other students are participating and being actve in class and I'm over here struggling with work/life/school balance - even after all this time. I'm like you, I usually start at the top, find a few that I might have something to comment on, paste them over to a Word doc, type out my 6 answers/replies to them, and then post 2 per day back in there. When I have my 6, I change the View from Thread to Linear and wipe them all out in one fell swoop! Bye Bye DQ!
Tokmom, Kwmom, Prism, you, and I all have the same instructor Beauty! Worth the wait or jumping ahead! :)
Seriously......best instructor ever!! And I just submitted my final paper! Just a couple DQ replies left and I'm a BSN prepared RN. Ha. Who woulda thought this day would finally come. :). Highly recommend this instructor. The most supportive and helpful one I've EVER had in all my schooling.
Got an email today asking me to comment (link to survey) on my overall program experience since I'm almost done. Of course I would wait until I have that diploma in my hot little hand LOL, but I'm wondering really what they even do with that information? The people that bother to fill it out undoubtedly lambaste them on the idiocy of CLCs and how they actually hinder the educational process of students, but they're still part of the curriculum so obviously they don't reaaaaaaaaaally want to know what my opinion is.I'm sorry, but I have spent 18 Grand (capitalized for emphasis) out of pocket for this education; I don't care what kind of research you have showing that CLCs are team-building. Absolutely nothing I have experienced has risen above frustration, babysitting, trying to explain and re-explain the obvious to inept (or just apathetic and rude) team members, and giving myself a bleeding ulcer over the possibility that some fool is going to tank my grade to the point of doing the whole assignment by myself at 2 o'clock in the morning with the known result of handing a jerk a nice pretty A+ that they did nothing for. And no, it didn't prepare me for the real world of Nursing Management, because if I were the boss of some of the absolute ______s that I've encountered, their employment would have lasted exactly 2 days - an option not available to a CLC team leader.
I think I won't bother.
Thank you Prism from the bottom of my heart. I'm seriously traumatized from them, this made me feel better! My coworker has them too and he just rolls his eyes, awful! A girl at work told me her group had to present their CLC project she did her part and while the other 3 presented she wrote the last persons piece. Said she was furious, can you image a face to face? I'd make sure it was a "Close Encounters" of an wanted kind. This last group we didn't even have the CLC agreement, not like I want to stalk them or anything.
