Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Seriously......best instructor ever!! And I just submitted my final paper! Just a couple DQ replies left and I'm a BSN prepared RN. Ha. Who woulda thought this day would finally come. :). Highly recommend this instructor. The most supportive and helpful one I've EVER had in all my schooling.

Ah Kwmom I'm so proud of you and glad we got to do a couple classes together! Enjoy your first weekend of Freedom! I hope you are actually off!

This completely freaked me out when I read that not only do you have to submit it to the University, but that anyone/everyone can read it??!! AUGH! Honestly this makes me worry less about a TII score and makes me focus on some future reader that I don't want to think that Prism was a real nimrod. I hope the authors of some of those articles I summarized don't ever happen across my interpretation, what if I didn't get it right?! LOL not like people like that spend their off-hours perusing undergrad papers, but hey, it could happen.

I don't read most of them.....as usually its just, ur the best..good point and then they paraphrase what the original poster stated,,but I do click on everything as I hate seein "unread" lol Just like I hate seeing on the main page when it says "unread" but its just an error, drives me crazy,lol I can now see the capstone class.....think I will just get the DQs out of the way and go from there

CONGRATS YOU!!! And, inquiring minds (me) wanna know.... just how many words was that final monster?? My Lit Review alone is already 2/3 of the total that's expected/allowed for the Big Mama?!

My final word count was 8824. 31 pages i am just giddy to be done! As luck would have it I am officially done on Sunday and I have to work that night.

I do the same thing Flames. Hate seeing the "unread". The first time the unread error happened I spent way more time than I probably should have, thinking I was crazy, going through all the threads trying to find the one that I missed. I am sure the IT department snickered when they got another call about the mystery unread post.

I believe that mystery unread posts happens when someone posts..then deletes it....it is gone, but still registers in the system! have 10 of them in current class,lol

I had no idea that Capstone papers can be viewed on the GCU website. I would like to read some of them, how do I access them?

What was I thinking?? I have 10 days off for Spring Break (I'm a school nurse) and am taking Ethics and Spirituality. Both of these classes are making me think waaay too much during this break. It has taken me hours just to figure out what assignment is due when and map it out on paper. Why are there so many assignments in Spirituality? UGH!!! Not a fun way to spend your time off! :facepalm:

Ok, I am stuck and am going to have to ask for help. I have spent hours today between 2 essays, one in Spirit and the other in Ethics and have come up with nothing. I cannot for the life of me figure them out. I am becoming very stressed out because in order for me to be able to take these 2 classes together, I need to complete a good amount of the assignments before I go back from Spring Break. I need help with an assignment in Ethics from week 3. It is the one regarding the ethical dilemma of the 6 year old who has Christian Scientist parents. We are to use a decision making model to analyze the case. In the lecture notes it gives Uustal's model as an example. Can anyone remember any other models that would be appropriate?

My other question is in Spirit in week 2 and is the Case Study: Fetal Abnormality where we have to find which theories are being used by the mom, aunt, dad, and Dr. Again, in the lecture notes it talks vaguely about theories, but not by name. I am at a loss as to which theories I am to be choosing from. I can tell from being in these classes just 2 weeks that I do better with things that are more concrete, and would much rather write a paper on a disease or procedure, but this is just about to get the best of me! I have made no progress today other than putting all my assignments on a calendar. If anyone remembers these assignments and can point me in the right direction I would be soooo thankful!! WOWWWIE derk, that sounds awful, and I bet I know why you're befuddled (not that it will make you feel any better). I just took those classes in Aug/Sept and I didn't have either of those assignments. Obviously they have changed the course, BUT, I bet you anything they did not change the Lectue Notes to match the new assignments and you are still reading the ones that I had. Isn't Uustal's model pretty broad though and wouldn't it work for just about any ethical dilemma? I can't really remember it, I'm sorry.

I didn't have any case studies in Ethics, and I just looked at my wk 3 - it was a paper on bioethics/is it ever okay to break confidentiality centered around an episode of that old show ER. And also no case studies in Sprit either - my lecture 2 is called "Spiritual Diversity"? I would love to help but I got nothin. :down:
