Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Hey friends!!! I am back!!! I took 2 months off over the holidays and really enjoyed this time with my family!!! :) I start Ethical Decision Making in Health Care next monday! Please talk to me about this class...instructors recommended, and intructors to avoid please!!! Thanks in advance to ALL!!!
I have a concern. I am sick with the flu and it has only got worse.Thankfully Tylenol and motrin are giving me bouts of feeling ok. sleep deprived due to the constant coughing at night. I am supposed to start spirituality today and first week looks easy enough to get through while being sick, on the assumption that I will be better next week. And there is a quiz! what is that about? Do you think I should paddle through or start in a week. I seem to have an instructor not on the naughty list too.
I just finished Spirituality and did not have any quizzes, but I did have a terrible instructor. So far that class was the only class that gave me a run for my money.

Welcome Back! I'm sorry I can't help you with Ethics as I did not have to take that class because I took it at my previous school.

Sorry, didn't have to do that class....
Hi JJ, I'm sorry you're sick! No Tamiflu?? I also did not have a quiz, but took it last Sept. They changed it?? What I had was pretty straight-forward, 5 papers, no CLC. If it were me, I would probably power through, especially since I would prefer a quiz over a paper ANY day (assuming the quiz is wk 1?). You'll feel better in a couple days, and since you have a decent prof I wouldn't leave it to chance that the next one wouldn't be... I hope you feel better soon! :barf01:
Thanks guys, My SA ended up changing me to next week instead and I have an instructor I have not heard of but I will take it anyways. The quiz was on top of the paper for the first week but maybe it was that professors personal preference. I do not do well with quizzes or tests. It is possible GCU has added quizzes, I don't know and for my sake, hope not. gonna take a nap now..
Not sure what kind of great detail you want, but here's what I know:You can't do it until you have successfully passed the first 4 classes with decent grades.
The "doubling" can either be a true double (two 5-week classes simultaneously), or you can overlap them (during the last week of one class you start the first week of the next, so you're only doing 2 classes at once for a week's time). You can overlap a couple weeks too. I've never done it, I would never do it, I really like my brain cells and just the program as IS is enough trauma for me. Winter and kwmom do it, they could give you more detail. Unless they're in a coma somewhere.
I have been doubling up a week or two here and there for the last few classes. I am not sure I would want to do an entire class, but doing the last week or two of a class with the beginning of another class isn't too bad. I typically get ahead in the first class so I mostly just have the DQ responses to do as I begin the next class. If I had small children at home it would be tricky, but my kids are 19 & 23 and don't really need alot from me, well, you know other than college tuition and food. haha I have been able to cut about 7 weeks off my graduation date by doing this so when the sun is shining this summer I will be out soaking up the rays instead of grinding out a paper! It was a good option for me, if you decide to doit you can call your SA and they can switch your start dates, I actually did it the first time to get a recommended instructor. Good luck

Add long as you are feeling better. My biggest fear was getting sick and sure enough, I became ill with severe food poisoning in ethics. Spirituality should be doable, feeling like crap, lol.
What's the quiz you speak of?
