Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Like that? I'm trying to cut down on my word count.

Yes I do! I wish I could follow your footsteps. At least my paper for this week is only over the max by 76 words..... Can't cut anymore.

This week is just like the rest, it is Thursday and I am the only one that has posted DQ#2. Six people have responded to my post but with the same ole dribble... "I agree (and continue to state verbatim what I posted)"

I need to get the DQ2 finished because I will be out of town this weekend!!!!! Come on slackers!!!

I hate the DQs..responses are always like--oh u are so right-----awesome response better....lol just gets sickening! I had 1 gal a few weeks back responded to 1 of my DQ---but it made no sense at all..... It is what it is.....

I don't know if I can receive IM's but I can't send them yet. I am starting my 2nd class, Family Centered Health Promotion, and I am overwhelmed just reading my Prof's bio. I'm worried that she has set such a high bar for herself that there is no way I can achieve what I want from this class (greater than 95%). I wish I knew other people's experience with her. I would also like to know if there are any Prof's I should really try to get (or really try to avoid).

I think u need like 15 posts...so just go and post away a few times.....

In two classes I have exactly 1 DQ posted and 1 day of school, and I'm on AN!!! :banghead: But I do have a PPT almost done. Now to start the only DQ in Patho!

Does your instructor require that you reply to both DQs for participation? I've never had one that did, and there have been many weeks where all 6 of my replies were attached to DQ1. Since that tended to work, I started that as a routine. I would reply x2 on Monday, Tues and Wed to #1, and then if DQ2 had something interesting I'd reply on that one later in the week for cushion, but essentially my 6 were already in the bag. So go back to DQ1, reply twice today, so you've got another calendar day's worth posted ;)

That first Patho DQ was an interesting experiment on how far our brains can take a smidge of information and turn it into a catastrophic scenario. By the end of the week (since there's only 1 DQ and everyone needs to keep posting), that poor lady was ready to be transferred to ICU or referred for a psych eval or onto hospice :roflmao:

Ours gives us a 2nd DQ in patho.....I don't think u have to do it, as she only counts it as a response..but it is a very basic question, so not sure why 1 would not do it....and easy to respond to others

Here is an update from Spirituality. So I was able to log on to my class today that starts Monday and I have a male instructor who was on "the recommended" list too. but DANG! He is specific about everything.. I hope that he just verbalizes this but that its the same expectations as all the other classes I have had. Oh and the quiz in the first week,, still there! So I guess its something GCU has added to the curriculum to this class, and hopefully I will not see anymore quizzes.
