Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Add long as you are feeling better. My biggest fear was getting sick and sure enough, I became ill with severe food poisoning in ethics. Spirituality should be doable, feeling like crap, lol.

What's the quiz you speak of?

Tokmom, He has not answered the other 6 students that are like, "wth?".. I am starting the class a week later, so I will tell you all if there is a quiz listed in the next instructors class. will keep you posted....

Not sure what kind of great detail you want, but here's what I know:

You can't do it until you have successfully passed the first 4 classes with decent grades.

The "doubling" can either be a true double (two 5-week classes simultaneously), or you can overlap them (during the last week of one class you start the first week of the next, so you're only doing 2 classes at once for a week's time). You can overlap a couple weeks too. I've never done it, I would never do it, I really like my brain cells and just the program as IS is enough trauma for me. Winter and kwmom do it, they could give you more detail. Unless they're in a coma somewhere.

Coma...you did great.

I have a concern. I am sick with the flu and it has only got worse.:yuck: Thankfully Tylenol and motrin are giving me bouts of feeling ok. sleep deprived due to the constant coughing at night. I am supposed to start spirituality today and first week looks easy enough to get through while being sick, on the assumption that I will be better next week. And there is a quiz! what is that about? Do you think I should paddle through or start in a week. I seem to have an instructor not on the naughty list too. :nailbiting:

No quiz for me, maybe your instructor needs to be on the to avoid list?

Thanks for responding yall...i really appreciate it! :)

Hopefully someone out there will be able to get me some info .

Just sent you reference for best teacher ever! Papers were always graded by Tuesday. She only touched comments and DQs once, they were graded on day I posted unless late and then she did them first thing in am!

The instructor I have for community health now is quick on grading as well. I really like this, it provides guidance for the remainder of the class. 100% so far, but how hard is it to get a 100% on the DQ and participation?

So someone else has stepped up to organize the CLC project for our group. From the discussions on the forum there are two that are questionable and one that has not shown yet. I am feeling like I need to message the self appointed leader to provide assistance. Maybe I feel guilty for sitting back 4 days from the start of class to step up with my info. Maybe I will get over it.

Its 1 of things ur damned if u do, damned if you don't!! I just don't understand why people don't want to get started ASAP......Oh well, just the way it is.....always 1 that is a pain!

Depending on the prof..100% is very achievable! I will leave it at that!

I don't know if I can receive IM's but I can't send them yet. I am starting my 2nd class, Family Centered Health Promotion, and I am overwhelmed just reading my Prof's bio. I'm worried that she has set such a high bar for herself that there is no way I can achieve what I want from this class (greater than 95%). I wish I knew other people's experience with her. I would also like to know if there are any Prof's I should really try to get (or really try to avoid).

I had a co worker tell me she had to go home tonight and write her piece for a group project that is due tomorrow. I bet there are a few other students freaking out wondering where her part is.

What do you mean 95%? You mean grade wise? What is the red flag?
