Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Thanks everyone. I just got off the night shift and think AZ is 2 hrs behind IL time so I think I'll try to contact my advisor after I get some sleep. My gut said it was all sorts of wicked for her not to even acknowledge my work. I take pride in my work and don't want to just skim through. I will let you all know what I find out
So I probably mentioned this either earlier in this thread or the other one....So I am in Community Health and on the last project where you teach a group in the community something that falls within one of the four subjects (health prevention, disaster, bioterrorism, etc), I want to throw out there what my idea is and get your input. I am going to go to a home daycare that has 2-5 year olds all day but she has 7 afterschool kids that are 6-10 years old. I want to teach them hand washing and how germs spread, what are germs, etc. I was thinking I would do a song for washing your hands with the little kids and and a poster board for the older ones and do 2 presentations little kids at 2pm and bigger kids at 3pm. What do you think? props? any ideas to run with this? It is due the 28th and I already got approval form signed.
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for some encouragement. I just got a promotion to manager at work like 2 weeks ago and I'm really nervous about the demand of the job and starting school.
I begin on Monday the 22nd-I had already pushed it back a week and really don't want to keep postponing starting because it may be a year before I even start if I keep doing that.
Just really nervous about the demand of school and work both. I pray I can balance it all.

Love it! It's informative and interactive.

This program is supposed to be designed around working nurses with an average time spent on homework of 15 hours/week.
I spent more like 20, but I was able to balance homework, family (big family, lots of kids) work at 36 hours a week, excluding overtime, union negotiations that went full days, and committee work. Overall I spend 50 hrs at work a week. Yeah, I burned a lot of midnight oil, only to get up to work in four hours, and my family got used to me sitting.. a lot, but I pulled it off. You can too. You can always start and if it's too much you could take a week out two off between classes.
Remember the time spent is only temporary!
I agree keepmovingrn. A little at a time the first term is pretty straight forward. Get ur feet wet and see how it goes. You'll find it works with work. I even do DQs on break....if I remember to email them to myself.
I loaded the loud cloud/gcu bookmark on my phone and would read ahead or check in. My mind was always thinking of dq!

Thank you so much!
Hello everyone! I recently have been in contact with GCU and am seriously considering their RN-BSN program. The local colleges have a whole slew of pre-reqs that would take me an additional 1 1/2 to even apply and I work full time. My goal is to travel within the next two years and I'd like to have my bachelors degree before I do this. I currently get 5,500 a year for tuition through my job. My question is to anyone who is completing the program or has completed already. Did anyone give you any issues about going to GCU? If I decide to pursue a master degree or NP school at a state university, will I run into any issues? It's costly, but I plan on paying as I go and utilizing the tuition reimbursement as I go. Any advice is appreciated.

Oh yeah she better grade it!!! I would call my advisor and make sure that they understand that this is business. I would also let them know up front that you would like to know the appeal process. Hard work deserves honest work, sounds like she might be a bit lazy...imho.
