GPC Spring 2012

Published

Okay lets get it started all who applied to GPC 2012 come on in.

I did mine earlier this week. I don't think it's too early. It's my understanding the only thing that matters when you have it done is the physical, which must be no more than 2 months before you start the program.

Oh ok. I have my physical schduled for November 16th, is that to early?

I know this is totally off the subject but I wonder how many guys will be in the spring 2012 program? I think they make awosome nurses and I like the diversity:specs:

I have mine on nov 21 (I think). 1st day of class is 1/9, so that should work!

To the current nursing students: in the NURSE PACK does it not have the bandage scissors, hemostat etc...in it?

What all is in the nurse pack?

Hi there I know you must be anxiously waiting. The scissors are not included in the nurses pack. The nurse pack includes all of the things you will need for all of your check-offs like: Sterile gloves, Foley kits, normal saline, syringes, 4x4's, etc. It's a lot of stuff in that dang bag so I can't name everything, but I hope this gives you an idea.

So has anyone started purchasing anything yet? I plan to do my drug test this Saturday. And my CPR class on Nov 12th. I'm still trying to locate my immunization records - which has been a nightmare!

Thanks adorable.

No slo I haven't started buying anything yet.

Greetings all, I also will be starting in January. Current students, I'm wondering what books from the suggested books list you've found to be helpful?? Are there any that are unnecessary, or just collect dust? Good luck to everyone, see you Dec. 15.

I'll be starting in january also. I've bought the 3 required books, davis drug guide, and tabors medical dictionary. From the students I've spoken to, those last 2 were pretty important reference books. I figured I'd wait to see how the semester progresses before buying the other 5 books.

Hello fellow Spring 2012ers. Congrats! Also, if you're from GA and/or received your immunizations here, you can go to the Dept of Health or your doctor and they should be able to print out your records from the GRITS system. I am working on purchasing my books. I purchased the background check and have to go for the drug test part sometime next week.

Hey gang,

I myself did not purchase any of the suggested books. Matter of fact the only book I have purchased is a sixth edition Fundamentals book, and have only picked it up maybe three times. Like I stated in an earlier post, you will not be taking these books to class and they do have books in the lab, where I try to do all of my studying. At orientation there should be some stdents there o can ask questions, just see what the recommend.
