Okay lets get it started all who applied to GPC 2012 come on in.
Hey guys (current and upcoming) students, do we order a name tag from (meridys.com) for clinicals? If so what needs to be on it; student nurse etc....? and if we dont need to order a name tag do we wear our GPC student badges?I think I better start buying some stuff this month.
Hi! I ordered two! Just in case I lose one, I have another one on hand. They were only like $6 a piece. All they ask for is your name on the Meridy's website. The uniforms aren't that bad looking either. I got mine yesterday. I can say that I have purchased EVERYTHING; the books, uniforms, shoes, etc.... I had to go ahead and get all this stuff out of the way before the holidays. I am soooo excited but very nervous to start.
Does anybody have a link for the AHA CPR class schedule? The only link I can find says there's no classes currently.[/quoteHi! I went to www.heart.org (which is the AHA website). Hope this helps!.
Thanks Caleb's mom. We live in Alpharetta and our health department doesn't do titers. I called Marietta and they'll do the chicken pox titer for $15. Crazy. We are a pay out of pocket family since I left my teaching job and my husband started his own llc as an independent contractor for AT&T. I'm pretty sure a titer and a ppd would have been staggering at our regular docs office.
Doing my background check and signing up for CPR today. Holy crap it's getting real.
I know I can do this. I know it. But I swear to god I've let some of the naysayer posts get to me about how difficult GPC is. D@mn the naysayers.
Has anybody else had a helluva time with the financial aid office? I've never encountered a financial aid office that required so. Many. Forms. I have to go fill out a maximum hours waiver because I have a previous bachelors. But I found out AFTER I had a mild heart attack when I saw on SIS I'd been denied financial aid. Uh, what? Such dramatics.
Rockabilly I totally feel the same way you do. I'm so nervous and now I'm starting to even doubt myself but I know we can and will do this! I've been so paranoid about starting to purchase anything, I think maybe I'm still in shock or something. I think that reality is really starting to set in ya know?
I did go ahead and purchase 2 uniforms and the required books not the recommened ones Sunday. So it looks like this thing is for real.
We can DO this. We'll hold each other up and keep each other going. I'm coming to terms with having absolutely no life for the next four semesters. At least I got to watch my little girl grow to three years old. I'll be missing the next year of her life lol. I'm just so ready to find out how hard it is. I know it's doable. I'm friends with two people who survived. I busted my @ss in my pre-reqs, I'm almost worried that these past two semesters off have made me forget how to study. We'll make it. And we'll come out on the other side as take no prisoners RNs.

I just bought the three required books for N1921 used on Amazon. I did price a couple of the suggested books but I'm going to hold off and see how much finaid I got left. I may try adorable42181's approach and use the books in the lab. Gotta save monies where I can.
