Had to go to the post office to get it because it came certified Wednesday and no one was home to accept it. Sweating all night Wednesday and all day Thursday just to find out I was not yet chosen. That hurt me so bad! I just knew I was getting in for the Spring. I can't get this off my mind. I called the school today and they said the chosen one's have till the 15th to accept and if someone or one's does not accept they choose alternates. God I pray I still have a shot. I want this so bad! I have for so long. Has anybody else not get accepted and then turn around and get accepted? There still may be hope! Man that would be a blessing! Keep the prayers going you guys...Please! Thanks!

There is always hope! Our letters went out in March and one woman was waitlisted. The night before our orientation in August she was called and offered a spot!! You just never know. Good Luck!

Im really sorry about not getting in! I know how u feel because the same thing happened to me! At a community college in the next city from me, there is an LPN starting in February. For the LPN program there, they dont rank you...if you meet the minimum requirements then it is first come first serve. I went to put my application in FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE APPLICATION PERIOD! They accept the 1st 55 eligable applications. I was #41 in line first thing in the morning! we were lined up through the building! I also KNEW I was getting in....and 2 1/2 months later I got a big package and I was thinking it was an orientation pack or something....BOY was I dissapointed when I opened the envelope and it was my original application with a letter attached stating my application wasnt complete because it was missing documentation! So therefore I was knocked completely out of the applicant pool over a technicality.
Long story short, I had transfer courses from another college and that college did not mail my transcripts because I had a hold on them over a fine for telecourse videos that I HAD TURNED IN. Lets not mention the fact that the school never informed me I had a hold when I requested my transcripts. I was so upset and mad that I couldnt even cry about it....I was just devastated!!! But the moral is it made me even more determined and I found another LPN program that starts in June and it works out better because its an evening and weekend program so I could still work during the day. And this time I got on the ball and MADE SURE EVERYTHING got turned and and the made sure again! Keep your chin up and look into any other local or semi local programs u can apply to. Many tech schools offer LPN programs, just make sure they are accredited. Good luck in whatever you do. My backup will be that they call me from the alternate list and I can start in February, bu if not, I know Im in for June at the tech school. Maybe they will call u but dont make the mistake of putting all of your eggs in one basket....research your options!

Does your school use a points system? Can you get any points by working in a medical setting or taking a certain course? Could you call the Dean's office and ask what you need to do to improve your chances? If you consider LPN/LVN school be sure to find out if all your courses transfer to RN school or would you have to start over (expensive and takes a long time).Good luck and keep trying!

I know exactly how you feel! I missed getting in by 0.14 and I wasn't even on the alternate list. I was devastated, but I turned my sadness into productiveness. I looked at other schools and kept taking classes. I actually ended up in a BSN program, which was not my original plan! I applied for the ADN program and didn't get in. Little did I know at the time that it was a blessing in disguise.....I love my BSN program and all the profs are so nice and the students are great. Keep your chin up and remember not to give up!
