  1. Although it would seem our media doesn't report on the flu much in Australia - I might only see maybe 1 or 2 reports on the TV news and another 2 or 3 articles in the newspaper addressing health concerns and who needs to be vaccinated. I wish the media would report more on it - my Grandmother is what - - - 76 and she has NOT never ever had a flu shot AT ALL. I am beyond amazement that she has not had the flu as much as even the common cold for nearly 2 yrs. YET I worry tremendously what the flu will do to her. I have only had the flu once in the month of June - I was 14 (as healthy as you can get and very fit) and I was pretty much in bed for a week only getting up to go to the toilet and not fully recovered by at least early September - still the effects are apparent ever since that year . That is why I worry so much about my Grandmother not making an appointment to get her flu shot. The importance of being vaccinated is not reported a whole lot here (Australia).
  2. Dear me ! The image in my mind of a person doing some of this stuff. :lol2 During peak hours times of holiday Christmas shopping, car parks are chock-a-block - people resort to following other shoppers around the shopping center parking lot rather than driving all over the shopping center looking for one. Mum and I being 'us' had a little fun of own leading shoppers on a wild goose chase around the shopping center for 3 or 4 minutes acting like we had finished shopping only to turn around wave, indicating we were not leaving. Yes, it is cruel - but when you have a plethora of cars following you about the car park . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .well . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  3. :balloons: super effort ! and congratulations !
  4. Coffs Habour is a beautiful place. I have not been there myself - parents went up there for a week some time ago now - brought back some really amazing photos. :)
  5. 500mg - My GP who recommended it. I don't usually adhere to the recommendation - 1 tablet a day - - - except in the winter. I swear by garlic for the common cold !
  6. Congrats - - - now you can relax (until next semester) Well done !
  7. 3 weeks since purchase. True - more than once I have been told - - - it's your use of the scope- not the stethoscope ! Sheer frustration when all you want to do is get tasks spot on the 1st time. Thank-you for your insight. :)
  8. Thumbs up ! Job well done - - -
  9. :roll delectable - - - I am on my way . . .
  10. Exactly Rhon1991 - - - I have order say small fired here - - - only to find I have been given extra fries whether it be medium or large - - - not to mention the extra cheeseburger put in the bag that I never ordered !
  11. We are expected to attend 100% of all our nursing prac. lessons - i.e. nursing lab sessions, clinical placements . . . If a student is not in attendance at any lab. we can make up the missed time - it must be made up asap followed by a legitimate reason - - - med. certificate/letter from doctor. In some cases students may be required to complete a clinical placement outside University semester time. Tutorials/lectures the requirements are not so strict - - - where we are required to have either 80% or 90% (?) attendance - I'd need to look this up in my notes made earlier in the yr.
  12. I read the about the labelling of warnings in our newspaper - doctors and politicians want fast foods to carry warnings addressing health risks and the like. Sometimes we, as humans lack the will power when it comes to certain foods - as in I lacked the will power to not dive my hand in the lolly jar and eat a handful of lollies at 9 in the morning - - -
  13. We were taught never to using cramming as a study method and always get a good nights sleep - best thing to do. Good luck and try to get some rest. :)
  14. Way to go nekhismom ! Cannot wait till I have finished- so happy for you - congrats ! :balloons:
