For quite awhile, I've been feeling more and more dissatisfied with the content, tone, and bent of many, many threads on this board.
I think I've just hit my limit.
I'm formally withdrawing from participation here.
To some of you, farewell...
To others, good riddance...
I think people need to vent, but it would be nice if everyone would TRY to share a positive work experience once in a while. I love my workplace, mostly because of the people in it. Where else can you work and be surrounded by so many intelligent, energetic beings, most of whom WANT to do the right thing for their patients? We hav shared so many laughs (and a few tears!) but we are family of a sort.
Even in my short time here I have noticed that the character and the tone of the site has been changing and it seems that we have lost some excellent resources (thinking most specifically about GrnTea). I have always enjoyed your posts, your honesty, and your willingness to teach others and share your mistakes. I am sorry to see you go. I am even more sorry that a few bad apples are so pervasive and infectious.
I understand your desire to take a break. There has been a lot more negativity here lately. Personal attacks are rampant, whatever happened to disagree with the post, not the poster? I too have read threads with some really inappropriate content that is allowed to continue despite reporting posts by the offender. I have decided to just not read those threads rather than not participate at all.
Please make this a break and not a goodbye. I will truly miss your input! Please come back after a much needed break!!

I, too, have noticed a change in the tenor of this site. However, I am sticking it out for the present. There are too many great nurses out there whose opinion matters to me
