i posted this in the gn forum but didn't get any response, so i hope someone here can help! thanks!
:) hello!
i just passed my state boards last month and have been looking for new nurse jobs/internships. i work for an hca facility and contacted a nurse recruiter @ medical city dallas (another hca facility) today for a position i saw posted for in pediatrics. she mentioned that she had just posted a gn / rn internship position online that will start in october and that i could apply for that. i got her contact info and information on the different units and went online to apply. i was so excited to apply!! its in several departments, pediatric congenital heart surgery unit, nicu, er, cvicu, nvicu....wow!
my only problem is that a bsn is required and i have an adn. i am really wanting to apply. i applied at parkland last friday and am keeping my options open. i know i don't meet the requirements, but would it be ok for me to apply even if i don't have my bsn? or should i just keep looking for other internships?
if i apply and get an interview and they offer me a position, it would be a transfer...i would still have to go to orientation, but i would get to keep my seniority (10 yrs this december).
i just need some guidance please. any advice/input good or bad would be appreciated.
thank you so much for taking the time to read my post.

puffi77 - thank you for that info! i wish they'd just put all of that online so we'd all know!
meggo - i applied to that as well...have you interviewed yet? I've been trying to get a hold of that article for the past few days, i can't get the full text from my school's library databases so i'm going to try to do the interlibrary loan if i can figure it out!
I did not speak to anybody, I got a long email with further inforamtion on how the hiring process should continie from now on...That was an email for the med-surge internship position...It was not very clear whether I would be called for an interview, just saying the top candidates will be interviewed over the phone..But since I did not get a rejection email I am assuming I might stand a chance to get in...I will keep you posted if I hear back from them... As far as Parkland residency program, I called and spoke to HR and they just explained that if they were interested I would get a call, nothing more...Anybody knows about internship positions with Childrens? That is one of my top places to work? Thanks
Hey guys, has anyone applied to the GN Telemetry position for Baylor? I haven't heard anyone speak of interviews or rejection letters for this position yet..and I'm getting kind of nervous that I haven't heard anything D:
BTW @puffi77, I don't know if this can apply to you, but Children's in Houston has opened up GN internship positions. Even if you don't want to work in houston, I would apply there just in case..you never know with the economy these days :/
I also applied to Baylor's telemetry spot. I had phone interviews last week for Baylor OB and Baylor ED and I listed them as my top 3 favorites (ED, L&D, NICU) so I don't expect to hear from the telemetry recruiter. Baylor does send rejection emails, I got some when I applied last October.
LovelyMo79, great to know someone else applied to Tele also. Hope you get an interview! I just hope we get an email or something that lets us know that HR is looking through our Tele apps!
Meggo, congrats on getting a phone interview! Hopefully you will get a job offering soon :)
Princess_WannaBe: don't give up hope!! There can be plenty more interviews to come, and you didn't receive a rejection email or anything right? Hoping the best for you!! :)
