  1. Hi, I think $20 /hour is about right though on the low end of the pay range. My classmates started at $19.50 two years ago and I thought $20-$22 would be at best what I would get now. I know what you mean about the difficulty and all we had to go through..However once we get experience we might be able to negotiate a better salary.Good Luck!
  2. I got a rejection email for Baylor med surge internship as well. I have heard that Baylor does not hire ADNs, but if that is the case why not post the position with a requirement of BSN only..It will save them and us a lot of time and trouble!!!
  3. Hi, I am RN grad 2008 without experience, since I chose to stay home and take care of my kids...I currently live in Dallas, TX but will be relocating to Richmond very soon( I actually graduated from Richmond Community College). Any luck with finding a job there? Please let me know how things are moving,it will be very helpful! Thanks!
  4. Hi Meggo, I am a new nurse, and I have been staying home raising my kids since I finished Nursing school 2 years ago...It seems it might take awhile for me to get the right job...Did they ask you in the phone interview how much you expect to get paid? my research shows between $21-$24.50/hour plus shift differential depending on where you work for nurses without experience? Thanks
  5. I did not speak to anybody, I got a long email with further inforamtion on how the hiring process should continie from now on...That was an email for the med-surge internship position...It was not very clear whether I would be called for an interview, just saying the top candidates will be interviewed over the phone..But since I did not get a rejection email I am assuming I might stand a chance to get in...I will keep you posted if I hear back from them... As far as Parkland residency program, I called and spoke to HR and they just explained that if they were interested I would get a call, nothing more...Anybody knows about internship positions with Childrens? That is one of my top places to work? Thanks
  6. Hello again, I got rejections for ER and transplant GN positions from Baylor...(I got them almost right way)They were saying there are more qualified candidates than me. We have to keep in mind that they are also accepting applications from experienced nurses, who almost always will be better applicants for them. In the email they were saying that the phone interviews will be done second half of March and April , followed by interview by nursing managers if the first one went well...Good Luck
  7. Hi, I have applied to a few positions but have not heard anything back. I got an email for a possible phone interview from Baylor...What hospital did you interview for? I guess it is to my disadvantage that I have an Associate's Degree and have my education background from out of state...Good luck!
  8. Yes, I did apply to some of the ones Baylor has...I got 2 rejection emails for two of the positions I applied for. Today I got an email response for a med surge position leaning towards me getting an interview...hopefully I will get the call, it will be very difficult to start an internship with all the applicants that are out there but I am determined!!!
  9. Hi Princess Wannabe, thanks for the info on texas health presby...I have not heard anything back from them either...I fear it will take awhile for me to land a job..That is just crazy..esp.with everybody talking about nursing shortage!!!
  10. hello again, I am sorry of I confused you all about the GN internships when I was talking about HCA..I acually meant Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital..they might still have some positions avaialable for new grads. As for HCA you are right that they will post in MId MArch or April, that is what I was told over the phone as well..Good Luck!
  11. Hello again, HCA website has only a few GN/RN positions posted now, when they first advertised them on 2/21/11 they were a lot (all but one of them were night shift) more but there are not that many left anymore...I do not know if they have found candidates for them or what,,but check and you might be in luck. They are all listed together with the regular RN jobs, they just say GN/Internship or GN/residency.GOOD LUCK!
  12. Hi, did you come up with any info on your job search?I live in Dallas and am thinking about relocating to Mclean, VA? If you have found out the potential employers and the starting salary please let me know, I would appreciate it greatly...
  13. They have posted them and they are all Night shifts...crazy, the worst shift...
  14. Thanks, can you tell me which hospital are you referring to?
  15. Hello, some of these posts are very old, so I wanted to see what current pay a new RN graduate can expect working in a hospital? What would be the difference if taking a job in a physician's office or hospice? Thanks in advance!
