GN / RN Internship at Medical City Dallas

Published

i posted this in the gn forum but didn't get any response, so i hope someone here can help! thanks!

:) hello!

i just passed my state boards last month and have been looking for new nurse jobs/internships. i work for an hca facility and contacted a nurse recruiter @ medical city dallas (another hca facility) today for a position i saw posted for in pediatrics. she mentioned that she had just posted a gn / rn internship position online that will start in october and that i could apply for that. i got her contact info and information on the different units and went online to apply. i was so excited to apply!! its in several departments, pediatric congenital heart surgery unit, nicu, er, cvicu, nvicu....wow!

my only problem is that a bsn is required and i have an adn. i am really wanting to apply. i applied at parkland last friday and am keeping my options open. i know i don't meet the requirements, but would it be ok for me to apply even if i don't have my bsn? or should i just keep looking for other internships?

if i apply and get an interview and they offer me a position, it would be a transfer...i would still have to go to orientation, but i would get to keep my seniority (10 yrs this december).

i just need some guidance please. any advice/input good or bad would be appreciated.

thank you so much for taking the time to read my post.

I got the same med surg email as well!!! Sorry to hear you got two rejection emails. I didn't know they were even sending those out yet. I guess that means the position I really want I still have a chance. I'm curious to see what positions will be open for HCA

I just noticed Denton Regional has a post up for a internship for ICU

Thanks for the heads up! :D

p.s. I'm getting so tired of taking online personality tests! I wish they would all use the same online company :uhoh3:

I only saw two GN positions he one for denton and plano. Don't know when the other ones will have theirs up. Neither of those have any postions that I want :(

hi puffi77, i applied to a few of the Baylor internships also, can I ask which ones you received emails from?

I applied to Baylor too..got the rejection for the ED like 4 days later..lol. I haven't heard back in regards to the Telemetry one I put in. I also got a rejection letter right away from Plano.

My top choice is S&W, though so fingers crossed!

Good luck with s&w!!! Does anyone know when Baylor is going to start calling for interviews?? I'm sorry to hear that everyone has gotten rejection emails. Baylor is one of the top picks if I can get the position I want. My resume wasn't all that great so I'm surprised I didn't get any rejection letters as well. Is anyone applying to Parkland???

I've applied all over. A recruiter from Parkland told me they aren't doing nurse resident interviews until April. I haven't heard anything from Baylor but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! At least we know they are looking through our applications:)

When are they going to post more nurse resident positions for parkland? When I last looked they just had ER and OR positions up, but I haven't checked today

Hi Princess WannaBe - I talked to a recruiter from Parkland about a week ago, she said just keep checking for the nurse resident positions. Did anyone apply for their Critical Care and Trauma Nurse Internship?

I did. Did you? I really want to get ahold of the article that the creators of the program wrote. I've read about it on this site but I can't get a good link. Does anyone have it?

Hello again, I got rejections for ER and transplant GN positions from Baylor...(I got them almost right way)They were saying there are more qualified candidates than me. We have to keep in mind that they are also accepting applications from experienced nurses, who almost always will be better applicants for them. In the email they were saying that the phone interviews will be done second half of March and April , followed by interview by nursing managers if the first one went well...Good Luck
