Getting NCLEX Questions Identical to Studied Questions ????

I had very few similar questions, but I had one exact question! No kidding. I took 75 questions before I went to the testing center, just to get myself into that mode, and no joke question 72 on the NCLEX was the exact same as one I had that morning!

I had two questions that were incredibly similar (if not exactly the same) to some Kaplan questions

Throughout school I must have done 7500+ questions with Saunders, Lippincott, Kaplan, Mosby, Incredibly Easy, Sandra Smith, NCLEX for Dummies..man the list goes on hhahahaha.

And zero.

I may have had 3-5 that were similar out of 265. I used Saunders, ATI, & ExamCram from rhine heart & associates. :up:

I had a couple that were pretty dang close to what I had studied, though I don't know if they were exactly the same. I used Saunders and Lippincot to prepare, and I think Lippincot is closer to the NCLEX in the difficulty of the questions.

I agree. I used both Lippincott (3500) and Saunders as well. I thought the 3500 was very much like the NCLEX, especially the sata questions. I also thought Saunders was easier and gave great rationales and a very good review area; so I really liked it for that.

My very FIRST question was the same as one of the questions in Saunders. A couple others were very similar. I stopped at 77 or 78 questions. Not sure how I did, will know tomorrow. If I don't post, it means I passed and am still working so no news is good news.

None of my questions are exactly the same; however, I saw 2-3 questions that have answer choices very similar to my Qbanks.

I'm studying the lippincotts ninth edition, I'm taking my test on monday and praying to pass, I've gone through much of the sata questions. exactly how this book help with the sata? I mean, is it the rationales

Hi, I have to tell you I studied Saunders (2006,loved it) and Kaplan (2006) and Mosbys (2006), and Davis (2006) and Delmar (2007) Nclex Prep/Readiness Books and NONE, repeat NONE of the 75 questions I got on my exam were identical. For as much as I studied and the fact that I was in the top of my class, I would have thought that I would Know that I passed but I took my boards today and I am unsure if I passed. I have looked up the questions I remember but that is just driving me more crazy. If it wasn't so terribly hot outside here I would just play Basketball or frisby to get my mind off of it. I tried a hotbath, a glass of red wne, petting my sweet dog, yelling at my husband and chewing my nails and nothing has helped so far. YYYYUUUUCCCCKKKKK. I hate the wait!!!!! I wish you the best of luck and god's grace though in your exam. :monkeydance:

I did many books too and I thought about how I'd prepare, if I failed, and having had the experience of taking the nclex one time to gage it for the second time. I don't know how I'd prepare. My test bank questions were so much harder and deeper than any nclex books. There was an occasional bone they'd throw me that was reasonable but then there were some that - despite knowing the content in these books - it wasn't clear what the answer was. I even came home and looked up one in particular and it is NOT discussed in Saunders review or Pearson's. Pearson's hinted at the topic in a box but it wasn't clear. Pearson's is worthwhile - I think I'd buy the bigger Pearson's book next time instead of the small exam cram. The Pearson's infection control hit on a topic that was completely missed (never taught) in my nursing school about whether you leave the door open or not. I was glad I bought that book! (Droplet - can keep the door open - just remember it's a 3 foot thing...)

The LaCharity book probably helps but there's no way you can duplicate that sort of question.

Overall, I thought it was more "know the physiology" and know what happens with the electrolyes in disease processes to get to the answer. I never had a single OB question, only a couple psych (communication theory and it was easy) and most were endocrine.

I truly won't know how to prepare more other than trying to be perfect on every condition in terms of knowledge. The level of perfection that test required on those select all that applied was not entry level nursing. I felt like the stretch to get most questions right was extremely difficult.

Also, everyone has a completely different set of questions and even topics so you have to know it all. My friend had tons of OB and I had a lot of broad topics but many endocrine and electrolyte nuances that came back to knowing the physiology of the diseases.

No way of gaging that test. It felt like an IQ test. Like they were testing your ability to logic-out a scenario and are you cable of critical thinking. So, if you can find test bank questions that really make you stretch in that way, those are the ones to focus on.

i think the way the questions are delivered are most likely the same as kaplan but the answer choices are most likely the same as saunders. what do you think guys?

I'm just wondering......
When "you" were taking the NCLEX.....did you -- or how often did you ---get questions that were exactly the same as questions you studied from while preparing to take the NCLEX ??
If you did....what source did you see the most questions from (Saunders, Kaplan, NCSBN ???).

Kaplan on mine! The thing is I looked up sata ?'s after taking my test and found a site with about every sata ? I had. It also had some of the other ?'s I answered. This is the pn exam and not the rn though. Loads of priority, medications, infection control, delegation...yeah, and it was a pn exam...ob and peds....I had a variety of everything including diet and nutrition and even diets for the different ethnic groups. I passed with 7 or 8 Sata select all that apply and one put them in order by priority. Took mine on Halloween....explanation to my screen name....85 ?'s and passed!
