Registration with NMC
is it true that if you're trained in the u.s. as a rn with that first obtained your asn then obtained your bsn online, you're not eligible to work as a nurse in the uk?

Online RN-to-BSN prohibitive for NMC registration?
Hi, I can share your concern with you here. I'm a RN who's seeking an agency work in the UK. I contacted NMC awhile ago and I've been informed that my education background isn't qualified for UK nursing. I've been a RN for 3 years and currently hold a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. I obtained my ADN first then came back to school for my Bachelors which I did ONLINE. Since I did my BSN online, I've been informed that I'm not eligible to work as a nurse in the UK If I obtained my BSN in a classroom setting, I would be eligible from what I've been told Did you end up applying for NMC anyway? What else have they told you regarding your BSN online? Did they say they'd accept it or not? Let me know.

US nurse working over seas
Hi, I saw your reply here in the forum regarding agency nursing in the UK. My name is Grace and I'm a full time RN in the ED in Florida. I've been to the UK twice now and going back again for the third time this year as I really love it there. I'm interested finding working in London area. Is it hard for U.S. nurses to find agency nursing work in London? How's the salary? How long is the contract for? If you can give me some info, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Grace RN, BSN

Stressed new nurse
hi there, i'm also a new RN and i work in the ED and everything has been HELL! the worst part is that i have a horrible preceptor who 'eats her young'. ive come home many days crying from work asking myself why the hell i went into nursing. all i can do is be patient, take things one day at a time, and stand up for myself. hope things get better w/ u. you're not alone.

new ER nurse venting out...
hi yall, i'm a recent grad and now a new RN in the ED and currently going through a preceptorship program. i must say that i love the ED so much but the preceptor i have seems to be so rough in me. for example, if i ask her a "simple" question, she expects me to know the answer already and if i don't the answer, she'd tell me that i'm supposed to know it already since i already learned it in nursing school. on the top of that, she mentioned to me once that she worries about me cuz i've been on training for quite some time and i don't have the brain to think like an ER nurse yet. she also mentioned from the beginning the she'd make things hard on me until i reach my breaking point since we're in the "ER" and i should be ready for the unexpected and pressure. do ya'll think that training a new nurse a hard way will make someone a better nurse? i feel that being rough on somebody in the nursing field is just going to make us doubt ourselves even more. instead of my preceptor lifting me up, i feel that i'm bringing brought down.

Qbank is really haRD..HUHUHU....
I agree. Qbank is way harder than the NCLEX. My cumulative performance score was 57% and I passed NCLEX with 85 questions.

Getting NCLEX Questions Identical to Studied Questions ????
None of my questions are exactly the same; however, I saw 2-3 questions that have answer choices very similar to my Qbanks.
-
passsed boards
I didn't use ATI but used Saunders, NCLEX3500 and Kaplan 2008-2009 to prepare for NCLEX and it truly helped me to pass NCLEX!

Is 3 weeks enough time?
Yep, your plan sounds pretty good. Just keep practicing those questions you're doing. I gave myself 3 weeks to prepare for NCLEX and everything worked out well.
