Who's taking it winter 2? Have you gotten your book? Are you buying or renting?

Also, if you have taken it, any advice? :D

If you have not watched the HBO video yet for module 4 ...make sure you have a box of tissues. What a well done program. I loved it!

Good Heavens ... I am going to have to buy stock in Kleenex before this class is over. First Morrie - then the alzheimers series from last week - now this week's viewings. :bluecry1:

Okay...I want to start on my nursing care plan. Just cannot get motivated. Does having my assignment done in my head count?

BTW: Still waiting to hear from the TA about the test question. Our test for this module was NOT curved. Not sure if there will be an adjustment or not. So, I want my right answer counted right!

My test was curved. Are you sure your test wasn't curved?

I have a really good TA, but I'm a bit annoyed that I got 2 points deducted b/c my references were on a separate page....Seriously? A lot of folks didn't even provide a reference for Mod 3 Assignment #1. There wasn't even a page that stated "reference" like in other grind format assignments.....

And am I the only one not watching these videos :o

Yes...I was one of the ones who did not have reference. I was expecting to lose 5-10 points and only lost two points, which surprised me. I have to say though, I was proud of the paper I submitted and the TA comments seemed to agree. But...looks like I am losing points on the test.

As for the HBO videos...I think you would really be moved by them. I certainly was. My boyfriend grew up watching "Cousin Cliff" the TV character documented at the end of the video. Watch it!

LAURA KAUFMAN no longer treats her patients in a suburban dental office. These days, she cleans teeth, does simple extractions and provides other basic care in the homes of inner-city elderly who are too frail to travel.

After a decade of private practice in the Boston area, Ms. Kaufman found that a growing number of her dental patients were older people and that she often had little idea of their complete medical picture. So she decided to become "geriatricized"-educated on how to recognize and handle aging patients, who typically have several chronic conditions, as well as multiple prescription medications.

"I saw these patients at my practice," she said. "And then my father-in-law was homebound, and I saw first-hand there were no at-home dental services available."

Eighteen months ago, she was accepted into a federally financed fellowship program in geriatric dentistry at Boston Medical Center that she will soon complete. The program for geriatric medicine, dentistry and mental health is one way that health care professionals can gain more specific knowledge and training to recognize and provide comprehensive care for the growing number of people 65 years old and up. . . .

That would be annoying!! My TA is good also, so far I have only had points deducted for my 1st DB post cuz it wasn't a complete paragraph. I didn't count the sentences!! Other than that 100's on assignments, quizzes blah, and no you are not the only one not watching the videos.

I have not watched any videos either...oops. I am doing good on assignments and DB (even though loosing quarter points for stupid "format issues" that never seemed to be a problem before) but I bombed that quiz last week. Oh well, hope it will be better this week.

Not only am I skimming the readings, but also skimming the memory loss tapes. They are too depressing to watch!! Makes me afraid to get old!!!
