I study at Starbuck's quite a bit... if I am home I always find other things to do. I can block out noise at Starbuck's and really study. I did try the beach one day but found that I can't study as well at the beach... it was more distracting... all the beauty, the warm feel of the sun on my body.. I got so relaxed that I napped!

My room. I turn on the radio, shut off the computer, and write out my notes ... I haven't really been able to find any other place that i can concentrate.
(However, it's amazing what you can learn, and retain!, when yo'ure stuck in a train station for three hours, and only have nursing notes as reading material ...)

I am starting Microbiology today....I am going to use the library as a place to go.
In nursing school, hubby always wanted me to study in bed while he was asleep on me. It's too hard to concentrate. But I really need good grades in this class so I can hopefully get accepted into ASN this coming spring.....

Sitting at my dining room table while the baby naps in the morning, hubby is at work, and the kids are at school. My computer is right next to me though, so it sometimes calls me to play online bingo or something...

Library study section. No kids, no phone, no laundry, no dishes, etc.. Get the idea. Good luck.

Usually the library at school.
I've also found the local Barnes & Noble a great place to study. I just grab a coffee and sit in one of the cushy chairs. It's a library-like atmosphere, but less stuffy.
Hey, Maire--what's the URL for online bingo? I LOVE bingo!

This thread brings back memories of when I was in school. I studied at the library. There was always several students studying there in the nursing books area.
I learned by accident that if I took a ripe banana and peeled it and ate it real slowly, .....the aroma of the banana cleared the area for me, as students were always hungry at noon....so, they would all leave within 15 minutes of my banana peeling trick.

i study at home and it has to be quiet to do so.
i was surfing other nursing boards and one post suggested studying with classical music in the background. has anyone tried this, if so, how did it work for you?
