I'm starting nursing school this fall and my orientation is in June. We are going to be fitted for uniforms then and order small equipment. My question is: How many uniforms should I have? I would think that I would need more than one but I'm not sure exactly how many.

At my school, clinical is only once/week so I don't see a need to have more then 1 uniform.

I bought three for the three patches the school provided. It's worked well for me and I'm 6 months from graduation. Good luck with your decision!

It all depends on how many clinical shifts you are going to attend per week. The less clinical time you have, the less uniform sets you'll need.
I attended an LPN/LVN program five years ago where my classmates and I attended three clinical shifts per week, so we needed three uniforms. I attended an RN program last year that involved only one clinical shift per week, so I only needed one uniform during that school year, but the school issued two sets of uniforms to all students.

Depends. I have 3 tops and one pair of EMS pants and one pair of scrub bottoms that I wear.

I had one set of uniform scrubs through my 3 year BSN program. We usually only had clinical once a week. In my final semester, I had to wash them every day though, because of my preceptorship (3 12-hour shifts a week). I wished I had an extra set at that point!

I had 2 for first semester, it was 1 day a week for 8 weeks. Second semester we had 2 days a week, sometimes 3 so I got 2 more uniforms for a total of 4. Always a good idea to keep a spare one in your car or bag in case something happens as well.

I had clinicals 2 days a week and I only bought one uniform. I washed it immediately when I got home anyway, so need for any more.

My school suggests getting 2 as we have clinicals 2 days a week. You can wear one, and bring the other just in case, and then if you have to, do laundry that night.

I have two sets but I bought one from a graduating senior so I saved a little. I didn't need two sets my first or second semester but I'll have clinicals 2x per week and will need the extra set so I'm not doing laundry so much.
