SOME DAYS I LOOK FORWARD TO IT, IF I'M SCHEDULED WITH A GOOD/POSITIVE/FUN/SUPPORTIVE GROUP OF COWORKERS... OTHER TIMES I DREAD IT-LIKE ON WEEKENDS WHEN MY FAMILY IS HOME AND I HAVE TO GO TO WORK FOR 12 HOURS

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

DEALING WITH APPRECIATIVE PATIENTS, BEING PART OF A DELIVERY FOR FIRST TIME PARENTS WHO ARE EXCITED TO BECOME PARENTS OR A FIRST TIME GRANDMA AND DAD IS CRYING OR GRANDMA IS CRYING AND THE PATIENT SAYS THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP, BEING COMPLIMENTED BY A COWORKER, SEEING A LOOK OF RELIEF OR THANKS IN A COWORKERS EYES WHEN I HELP THEM WITHOUT THEM ASKING OR EXPECTING HELP

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

SOME DAYS WHEN IT'S CRAZY/CHAOTIC BUSY AND ALL THE POOP IS HITTING THE FAN AT ONCE--10. ON DAYS WHEN THERE ARE BARELY ANY PATIENTS AND A FUN GROUP OF COWORKERS, AND EVERYTHING IS GOING NORMALLY AND SMOOTHLY--0

Specializes in HH, Psych, MR/DD, geriatric, agency.

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

---I like my job

2. What field of nursing are you in?

---Home health

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

---FT

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

---Most days, I look forward to it. I found that if I dread it, start the day in a bad mood, thats how my whole day is going to go. So I try to have a positive attitude.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

---At the end of the day, knowing that I did a good job to the best of my abilities... regardless if anyone else notices or not. I notice and thats what counts.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

---Most days, 3 or 4. But sometimes, its a 10... depending on the parent's mood. :)

7. What causes you the most job stress?

---Parents that nitpick and expect more services than what I am there to provide just because a previous nurse would bend the rules for them.

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

---Patient families that just allow me to do my job with their child without hovering every minute. I understand there are some untrustworthy home health nurses out there, but I am not one of them. Usually, it doesn't bother me but some days it does. I've done nothing for patient families to NOT trust me, but because of previous experience with other nurses, they have no respect or trust. Which is sad.

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

- Most of the time I do look forward to it, there are of course days where I am dragging a little.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

My patients by far. Ortho is a speciality where most of the time we see patients come in for elective surgery and after a short stay they are walking out the door. My co-workers make my job enjoyable as well.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day? Better nurse to patient ratios, if everyone (regardless of their title or position) took pride in their work so that tons of unnecessary things didn't get dumped on the nurse's shoulders

**Keep in mind, I haven't worked bedside nursing in around 9 years because I've been home with my kids. I only returned to per diem about 6 weeks ago. So, maybe I am in the honeymoon phase? But right now I love going to work. It is a welcome break from the stressors of home, since I need to focus on what I'm doing when I'm at work. It's nice to have the extra money. It's nice to be out of the house, and be someone other than "Mommy" for a while. The hospital I am working at seems to be pretty nice. There are a lot of nurses that have working there for decades. So far so good!

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

When the doctors listen to you and start some patients on palliative care, that sounds morbid. But, there is nothing worse than them sending a 90year old through surgery, which they dooo. and then they die on the table. great. And working with great staff. I have a great manager and great staff around all the time. We have a blast doing some ****** work. so all in all the staff make this unit great and I think everyone on my floor would agree. the work is **** but, the people are great. and the 8 weeks holiday a year is good too.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

When an unfamiliar visitor comes to the ICU and you ask, "Who are you here to see?" The answer, "I came to say hi and thank you."

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

Hate it...but only because I want to learn more, I'm just a 2y/o nurse. Oh that and the fact that we don't have a say on our rights...

2. What field of nursing are you in?

7. What causes you the most job stress?

Colleagues, doctors, the administration...Apparently, I happen to have lived in a deviant manner so I end up misplaced or misunderstood. :p Sorry to myself for having lived under the rock prior to nursing.

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

Nursing process? xD

Basically my problem is the lack of responsibility and learning experiences....since I can't pray for people to get sick because that's a bad thing to do..I'm trying to look for another job. I wish to work at a tertiary hospital. The thing is I'm scared of leaving my job only to find no work. We have a nursing job shortage in here too and a 2y/o nurse isn't considered much experienced...
