Yes, a neatly trimmed beard is okay by me. :)

Why not, some of the female nurses do. I'M JOKING!:rotfl:

Yes I think that it is okay to have a beard, mustache, if neatly trimmed and well maintained.... Towanna

I have a goatee at the current time that I started growing over Christmas break from college. As a CNA I see nothing wrong with body hair, then again dreadlocks would be a bit disturbing on a healthcare provider.

As long as it is neatly groomed, I think it is ok.

It happens - my daughter came home from snowboarding with the high school yesterday and said her instructor had a beard. I had to talk to her about polycystic ovaries and other causes of facial hair and insist that she talk with her friends about NOT making fun of their instructor. She understood but still said "well, why can't she just wax?". sigh . .. . teenagers are so conscious of looks.

I think beards are fine as long as they are, as others have mentioned, neatly trimmed.

We're told over and over at work that "all hair in the OR must be covered. Yet we have a nurse who's 4 inch long beard hangs out of his mask. He doesn't scrub, but, man if he did, i think that beard hanging out would be a HUGE violate of the hair-cover rule.

Its another male nurse question????? Whats next, male nurses having hair growing out of thier ears???haha sure, have a beard, but keep it trimmed!!

I dont see why not it should just be neat and trimmed just like all professionals need to be neat and professional looking.

Most of the male nurses I work with have well-groomed beards, and they look terrific!! ;)

I don't like beards on guys in general, but it's their business.

What I really don't like are those quartrer size goatees under the lower lip, and a certain coworker's explanation of why he has it.....(think dirty)

Some things your coworkers just shouldn't have to know.
