I regret!

Everyone has one or two regrets. Its always a learning experience and it always good to stay positive.

Just wanted to list some of mine and u could share if you want to.

Let's learn from each other

I sometimes regret that I wents straight to a specialty instead of starting on the floor. Now I desperately want to be someone who can work anywhere and I have to backtrack a little.

I regret that I left my old Job sometimes..at least they had more hours.

I regret not joining the Air Force after graduating! .....and I came very close to doing it. To think that I could have retired a few years ago....

If I really think about it, I regret the fact that I didn't start nursing school when I was younger. On the other hand, if I had, I might not have met my husband, or done any of the things I HAVE done. I try hard not to regret. We come to all things at the time when we need them. Just because we know now that nursing is the career for us, it might not have been the right one for us when we were younger....

I have no regrets in nursing (yet)---I am regretting that I let the 6 and 10 year old make cookies all by themselves today!!! The kitchen has become a flour filled play land!!!

I regret...

  • not starting my nursing career earlier.

  • living so far away (1400 miles) from my grandparents, 97 and 92 yo, and not being able to see them everyday and care for them how they cared for me while I was growing up.

i totally refuse to have any regrets.

i am who i am, where i am supposed to be and what i'm supposed to be doing.

simple as that.

working w/dying pts, i swore to myself many yrs ago, that i never wanted to have regrets at the end of my life.

and i will not go there.

I regret leaving University during my sophmore year, 20 years ago. So I am fixing that - I'm going back to school to pursue my BSN. Life is too short to live with regrets, so I am doing something about it.

It can be done and you are a wonderful mom for doing it!

I regret taking out so many loans for my pricey private-school undergrad degree in religion (but very glad I followed my interests and did a biology minor)...

...and I regret that with my love of humanities, health, and science, I never thought of nursing. None of my professors suggested it either (because they were grooming me for a Phd & still don't respect my decision to be "just be a nurse.")

So be it!

I'm thankful for all I've learned along the way,

and if I can learn from my regrets I'm doing pretty good!!!
