just curious, this is my 2nd time being rejected from nursing school. the 1st time my gpa was to low (2.5) the lowest wcccd took was 3.4, so i retook 4 classes over and raised my gpa to a 3.5, well this time the lowest they took was 3.7 and they are advising me to take A&P over (received a B) and Soc. (received a C) the A&P would bring my prereq gpa up to a 3.7 provided i get an A, and the other class would bring my overall gpa up. this is putting me back yet another year(reapplying in jan of 2010) plus i have 2 take the NET test over becuz it expires in feb. of 09. just curious if there was anyone besides me who kept applying to the same school and finally was accepted. beginning to think i'll ever get in and to just forget the whole thing:cry:

Honestly? I applied once and was accepted at two different schools.

I do know that there are a number of wonderful candidates in your position. A friend of mine has just applied for her third time and finally been accepted after retaking ridiculous classes like sociology and yet, in the program, there are a number of folks I just think what got you in here in the first place?

NEVER keep up on something that matters to you! Be in it to win it! My advice would be keep trying and possibly try another program in your area.

Good luck to you.

I applied once and to only one school. I was accepted. Keep on trying or try looking at alternative schools. Is a high GPA the ONLY thing they care about? Do you have any other requirements (maybe essays?) where you can improve? I still can't believe they turned you down with a 3.5GPA. I take that back, I had a fellow classmate turned down with a 3.9GPA, maybe her essay wasn't what they were looking for...

Good luck!

they say starting the fall of 09, they are starting their point system, where u get points for taking prereq's with them and past med exp. etc. that was the only reason i was going to apply again. but i am still looking 2 apply elsewhere.

I applied once to one school and was immediately accepted. To be honest, at the time I didn't realize it was such a big deal.

Honestly I was accepted on my first try to the first nursing school. However, I lasted but a few months, dropped out, got a BS in a different field at another college. Seven years later I applied again to the same school and was accepted again.

You need to try other programs/schools. Keep your chin up! If it's meant to be, it will happen.

OH HOW I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!!!!

All I ever wanted to do was be a nurse!! .. long story short, it started in 2003 after graduating highschool, I applied to the same school program THREE TIMES!!! I filled out the last application and said a prayer. I realized when I was finally accepted that when I originally applied it just was not my time yet. But, the struggle leading up to that point was insane. I thought about possibly changing fields. I just could not do it. They put you through the ringer for a reason. rejection leaves room for personal growth and improvement. If you really want it, it will happen for you. I firmly believe that.

Good Luck to you!!!:nuke:

It took me 3 years to finally get into a program. My first year of applying, I was in the process of finishing my pre-reqs, and I applied to the community college where I was taking classes and a university.

I had no idea what they were looking for, then the next year with my pre-reqs finished and then working on retaking my pre-reqs for higher grades I applied to the same two schools again, and two more community colleges, still not accepted.

Then I took a year off from school and worked full time, and applied to the only two community colleges that I really thought that I had a chance at getting in at. Thankfully I was accepted.

I have a fellow classmate who spent 5 years applying, however she only was applying to the one school and then I have met others who it was their first try and got in.

Your time will come, just keep trying and apply to multiple schools. I look back on it now and am glad it all worked out the way it did.

The school I wanted to go to but didn't get in, had cut off my financial aid because I had taken all my pre-reqs there at the school I am going to now is able to fully fund my classes through financial aid, plus I realize now that I really needed to take the year off from school and just work and be a mom before heading into such an intense program .

I was placed on a waiting list for RN school but they couldn't tell me which number I was...I guess I was first on the list because someone dropped out and they called me on a Friday and I started their program the following Monday.
