Found myself in quite the pickle.. (Poll)

I graduate in December and I've been invited to first round of interviews for a new grad residency at a particular hospital that I have been gunning for since I began nursing school.

However, my institution requires all of its exit level to partake in a $350 3-day Hurst Review (that I've already paid for). This review is basically a "refresher" course designed to prep students for successful completion of HESI and NCLEX. The first day of Hurst review is scheduled on the same day as first round of interviews.

I have the option of skipping either event. However, I know that Hurst will help me out in a lot of ways & I also know that this interview could essentially be the beginning of my career. I'll still be able to attend the other 2 days of Hurst review, but I am still very much so torn between the two. Interview or Hurst review??

What would you do in this situation?

I voted for the interview. The Hurst review is great, but remember it is a review for the things you already learned.

When will you get a chance to interview again for this hospital? No one knows.

I personally would opt for the interview as well. Review is always good, but you can always review on your own time.

Yep, interview! Especially if you've been doing well in school to this point, there's not much that missing the first day can really hurt. My school did a similar 3-day, but through ATI, and the first day was the least useful, talking about the structure of NCLEX and its questions, and running through a few basic questions to get us warmed up.

Definitely go to your interviews!! In all honesty I think hurst is a huge waste of money. I paid way too much to sit in a classroom and fill in the blanks in a book. You basically pay for the book and practice tests because the actual review put me to sleep. That is just my opinion. I have many friends who benefited from the review!
