Entertaining Angels?

Last night I was going in to check on a patient and our Chaplin was in praying with him. This particular patient had a long history of alcohol abuse and had some serious damage done because of that. I wasn't sure how receptive he would be to our Pastor. So when I saw them together with his sister I stopped and turned out of the room. Later, I asked Pastor how everything went and he assured me the patient was very open to the visit. I said, Yeah and isn't his sister really sweet? He had a blank look on his face and said, I don't know, is she? I said, Well, she was sitting right next to you. No, he replied, Shay, it was just me and the patient in the room. I said "Pastor, I saw a woman sitting next to you smiling while you were praying just as plain as I saw you sitting there. Are you pulling my leg?" Turns out he wasn't. Then he said to me, The bible says you entertain Angels many times and don't know it. What a cool job, lol.

You have witnessed The Magic that happens when we work with people and serve them with our hearts.:redbeathe

I will pass this story along to my husband, who is a minister and a chaplain in the Army National Guard. He loves his work!

Thanks!

shay, what made you think it was his sister, vs any other type of female figure?

you should ask him about his family, try to find out who this woman was.

stuff like this, never ceases to amaze me.

This is my proof that God exists.

Seen stuff like this and explains a lot of why I end up with some very specific types of patients.

I got goose bumps! Thanks for sharing your story

Thanks all, it was pretty cool.

Leslie, the thing that made me think it was the sister is that she looked like her. I met her for about 15 minutes the night before when she came in to sign his consents. Talked to her twice more that night and once again before I "saw her" at the bedside. I really, really thought it was her. Had the same hair, smile, etc. I would have asked the patient but he was a bit confused and I don't know what I would have heard, LOL.

Shay, I told my husband. He said it doesn't surprise him. He also said thank you for sharing your story.

Shay,

Wow!!! What an amazing story. As I was reading this, I felt goose bumps all over. Thank you so much for sharing this story. It's so good to hear of stories of this magitude, when I watch my local news here in California, it bring me great sorrow about the things that are happening in the world. I am glad you shared this with me. I was beginning to think that there were no positive stories out there. Thank you!! Carla

In a word - WOW.

And - what a privilege you were granted.

You have a gift, an extraordinary one!

Have you heard of the third eye which everyone of us have? But mostly it is "closed". They say a person has to be desensitized to "open" the third eye so one may witness/see spirits or other entities from different dimension. But there are also some people who are naturally sensitive that they are born with the said eye open.

Maybe you really do have a pure heart and sincere intentions that you are given a chance to see how your patients see you as you smile and care for them.

You saw the sister, but for me you saw yourself. You are the angel.
