Just saw a new Moto Guzzi. Totally kewl. Sounded like a small block. only 91 horses for $13,000. Almost as over priced as a Harley, but probably twice as dependable. I see a bike either late fall when everyone is trying to get rid of them or next year. Don't know what yet, just know it will; be foreign and fast.

Husband has a wonderful Honda Goldwing. Very comfortable. I ride, not drive, but I give directions well.

My hubby has a Gold Wing too! I love it! I'd never ridden on a MC until I met him ( 3 years ago ). Great touring bike!

started ridin' when I was 4 yrs old..a honda z-50, moved on up, stayed with Honda, though. Depends on what type ridin' you're doing. If you're cruising, a Honda Goldwing is nice. Lookin' for fun, something like a Valkrie. Headin to the woods, you need a nice 2 stroke..yamaha, suzuki or kawasaki is my pick. However, best dirt bike I ever owned was a Yamaha TT500, 4stroke..would kick the hell out of you when cranking it, though.
personally, I'm not fond of Harley's..lot of money for a hellacious ride, if you ask me.

I share your dislike of Harley. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable...
got any idea where I could find an old Honda 750 (76-77 model)? Had one, absolutely loved it. Became insane when I turned 16..gave up the bike for a car. Still regret it 17 yrs later.

I started riding motorcycles in 1971. I have owned a Honda 360; Kawi 440; Suzuki 1100; Goldwing 1200; and now a Wing 1500. My husband just upgraded to an 1800cc Wing and I will probably trade up next year also.
I love to ride and am leaving Maine in about 12 hours for a trip to Indiana and Virginia and home. Taking 17 days off and will drive my bike with a 30 cf trailer behind (I don't pack well). I would encourage anyone with an interest to take a motorcycle safety course and start riding. It is not without risk, but what in life that is worthwhile isn't !!
When I started riding at 18 yo (yup, hitting 50 this year), I was the only female in the area who drove and now there are women everywhere. I am glad to see it. The motorcycle industry is also taking note of this fact.
Also I would suggest you become involved with a reputable club. There is safety and more fun in numbers. Keep the shiney side up !!!!!!!

Nice to hear from you CEN, I was worried about you.

Not a motorcycle fan - I was engaged at 18 - he died in a cycle accident, about 6 weeks before wedding. I never married.

    I call them donor cycles.

In the state of Ohio there are no helmet laws. I see helmetless motorcycle drivers all the time! STUPID! JUST STUPID!

I had a Honda Rebel a few years back. Used to ride it everywhere! Kids thought it was really cool to have Mom pick them up from school on her bike~
Maybe someday I'll be able to afford to get another! Sure wish I could!
