i don't expect alot of response here, because it seems most on bikes are guys. however, i would appreciate anything anybody has to offer?

me :)

Awareness is the key, imagine constantly that 99% of car drivers are homicidal maniacs, trying to do you in, and you'll be fairly safe. Those who are not, are visually compromised. The most heard expression after a collision between car and bike is "I didn't see you/them!" And it's never the biker's fault! ;o)

Hi All!

I am a mom of five and a pre-nursing student who cannot wait to get a motorcycle!!!!! I don't know that much about them yet, but am hoping to get a navy blue Kawasaki Ninja. One of the smaller ones. I'm planning on putting daisy and happy face decals on it. That's just me. I have to get some more schooling and get a job, then I can save up for one (don't have enough $$ for an 'extra' like that right now).

My kids think it's pretty cool, but the adults in my family think I'm crazy. This is the way I look at it....I've heard of people involved in small things who died when they shouldn't have and people involved in huge things that lived when they shouldn't have. When it's my time to go... then it's my time to go. Nothing I can do about it.

Have a good one!

Renee :)

Well sleepyeyes, maybe its just my age or generation, But these new harleys are overpriced, beautifully built and I wouldnt own one. I dont like the New Sound, it just doesnt sound right to me. Fortunately if I wanted to I can still get the old Harleys at a inflated price, but with their custom rebuilds and such. They are well worth the money. And so much easier to work on.And it isnt hard tracking down those old parts you need either.

I learned how to ride on my fathers old Indian, They were a trip and well worth it. But then again I dont like the new ones at all, just aint the same.

And I will never ride anykind of asian bike, By god Im american all the way there.

Just saw a new Moto Guzzi. Totally kewl. Sounded like a small block. only 91 horses for $13,000. Almost as over priced as a Harley, but probably twice as dependable. I see a bike either late fall when everyone is trying to get rid of them or next year. Don't know what yet, just know it will; be foreign and fast.

Husband has a wonderful Honda Goldwing. Very comfortable. I ride, not drive, but I give directions well.

My hubby has a Gold Wing too! I love it! I'd never ridden on a MC until I met him ( 3 years ago ). Great touring bike!

started ridin' when I was 4 yrs old..a honda z-50, moved on up, stayed with Honda, though. Depends on what type ridin' you're doing. If you're cruising, a Honda Goldwing is nice. Lookin' for fun, something like a Valkrie. Headin to the woods, you need a nice 2 stroke..yamaha, suzuki or kawasaki is my pick. However, best dirt bike I ever owned was a Yamaha TT500, 4stroke..would kick the hell out of you when cranking it, though.

personally, I'm not fond of Harley's..lot of money for a hellacious ride, if you ask me.

Bob,

I share your dislike of Harley. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable...

got any idea where I could find an old Honda 750 (76-77 model)? Had one, absolutely loved it. Became insane when I turned 16..gave up the bike for a car. Still regret it 17 yrs later.

I started riding motorcycles in 1971. I have owned a Honda 360; Kawi 440; Suzuki 1100; Goldwing 1200; and now a Wing 1500. My husband just upgraded to an 1800cc Wing and I will probably trade up next year also.

I love to ride and am leaving Maine in about 12 hours for a trip to Indiana and Virginia and home. Taking 17 days off and will drive my bike with a 30 cf trailer behind (I don't pack well). I would encourage anyone with an interest to take a motorcycle safety course and start riding. It is not without risk, but what in life that is worthwhile isn't !!

When I started riding at 18 yo (yup, hitting 50 this year), I was the only female in the area who drove and now there are women everywhere. I am glad to see it. The motorcycle industry is also taking note of this fact.

Also I would suggest you become involved with a reputable club. There is safety and more fun in numbers. Keep the shiney side up !!!!!!!

Women on bikes are mega sexy. Especially sport bikes.
