i don't expect alot of response here, because it seems most on bikes are guys. however, i would appreciate anything anybody has to offer?

me :)

You mean DONORcycles?

In the state of Ohio there are no helmet laws. I see helmetless motorcycle drivers all the time! STUPID! JUST STUPID!

I had a Honda Rebel a few years back. Used to ride it everywhere! Kids thought it was really cool to have Mom pick them up from school on her bike~

ahhh.....memories.....

Maybe someday I'll be able to afford to get another! Sure wish I could!

Women on bikes are mega sexy. Especially sport bikes.

I second that!!! There not much that I find sexier than a woman on her on bike - especially sleek sports bike...

I started riding 3 years ago on a Kawasaki ZRX1000. My mother promised me when I was 12 that she would buy me a motorcycle when I got 18. However, for whatever reason, she was unable to remember that promise when the time came. Well, three years ago (I'm now 34) I just decided to get a bike. When to motorcycle training class, passed, got my license, and went out and bought a bike. Now, it almost cost me my marriage because my wife went ballistic, but there are some things in life you just have to do. That was one of them for me. The second one for me is getting my BSN which I start taking classes for next month.

1965 Harley Davidson Sportster==HIFI blue with extra chrome. That's the ticket!!!!!Now, where to get the cash to make the purchase? I've had my license for 3years ever since my xboyfriend told me that "WOMAN'S PLACE ON BACK OF HARLEY' Of course this was before he totaled his with no helmet on and almost died. Mass. has a helmet law. Everyone has to wear one. In RI they bargained and got helmets for passengers, riders under 21 and riders who have less than 1 year experience riding. I find them limiting, however, I would wear one. But I do resent the government telling me I have to.

I resent that, I thing alot more women are riding now. I have a Kawasaki Ninja 250. Laugh all you want, but when your only 5 ft tall, there isn't much out there that will fit you. I grew up on dirt bikes, and finally got the 250 2 years ago. Its pretty quick. When I'm done with nursing school, I'm gettin' me a HARLEY. Sucks being in WI got 9 mths of winter...doesn't leave much riding time.

When I was married to my first husband, he bought a Yamaha. One day I attempted to ride the thing by myself. It was so heavy, I couldn't hold it upright once I got it stopped. It fell over, with my leg trapped underneath, with the muffler still hot. For several weeks I had "ham" branded on the inside of my calf.

07/10/02 I started riding motorcycles in 1971. I have owned a Honda 360; Kawi 440; Suzuki 1100; Goldwing 1200; and now a Wing 1500. My husband just upgraded to an 1800cc Wing and I will probably trade up next year also.

I love to ride and am leaving Maine in about 12 hours for a trip to Indiana and Virginia and home. Taking 17 days off and will drive my bike with a 30 cf trailer behind (I don't pack well). I would encourage anyone with an interest to take a motorcycle safety course and start riding. It is not without risk, but what in life that is worthwhile isn't !!

When I started riding at 18 yo (yup, hitting 50 this year), I was the only female in the area who drove and now there are women everywhere. I am glad to see it. The motorcycle industry is also taking note of this fact.

Also I would suggest you become involved with a reputable club. There is safety and more fun in numbers. Keep the shiney side up !!!!!!!

08/04/04 How bizarre reading this. My posting was 2 days before a crash in Md. on July 12, 2002. I had a trucker try to kill me, he jackknifed his trailer into me as I was passing him on interstate in Big Pool Md. He stopped, got out, laughed and drove off with no markings or plates on the rig. He left me for dead. We girls from Maine don't die easy though. I was medivaced to Cumberland hospital where I got great care and spend 3 days, came home by car and finished my vacation by car and returned to have shoulder operation, 5 months off of work, 3 with restrictions (really none) and in April 2003, bought a new 1800cc GoldWing. The surgery was at Central Maine Medical Center in Maine and the PT/rehab at Rumford Hospital. WHY AM I ALIVE???? I WEAR A HELMET, AND THE GOOD LORD WAS WATCHING, NO OTHER REASONS. I had shoulder injury (5th deg AC joint sep, shoulder at my ear; fx same radius; fx right post. ribs; and major road rash.) I now also wear mesh riding jacket instead of just jeans and tshirt. Just returned from trip to Quebec and Virginia. Great to be riding! Be carefull out there for there are crazy people on the road. Wear your helmet, as it saved my life for sure.

Suzuki.

Had a 1200 over a decade ago. Man, that baby would hum. Especially on a cool spring or fall evening. And so quiet!

1963 Earles Fork Vintage BMW here... been riding my own since 1972(when girls/women REALLY weren't riding much)... I bought it in Germany off a GI going back to the USA. Picked up another 69 model once I got back to the states as well.. still have the two of them, but prefer my old antique.

Currently still in the shop getting a facelift, hope to be able to still do some riding on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. before the summer is all but gone. :o

Rode that bike all over Europe.. from the Austrian Alps to the Costa del Sol in Spain. Then all over New England, Tennessee, and rode out to Kansas by myself from here in Va. to hang with my sis awhile when she lived out there..

Nothing like it. :)
