What are some of the funniest names that you guys and gals have seen at work? I'll start
Twins : Roderrick and Roderricka,
Twins : Autumn and Fall
Girl : Asshole (A-sole-lee)
P.s. This thread is just for fun.....
ok, this is an eyewitness account, before anyone thinks this is urban legend a la nosmo-king and oranjello:pronounced: sha-thee-ed
spelled: shi'thead
yes, really...
i'm pretty sure i heard that one along with orangelo and lemongelo. and "ahsohlee" (except spelled differently :>p))
all these names have been passed from generation to generation of nicu nurses. i'll bet it's a legend...

nope--hence the original caveat. this young man is alive and well in virginia, and is a student in the same school district my husband teaches in. i did not beleieve dh until he showed me a school program with said child's name on it.
as you can see from my screen name, i do home care, not nicu, and am a bit of a skeptic myself! have no clue what mom was thinking...or maybe she saw it elsewhere and thought it was great!
what ever happened to elizabeth and matthew???![]()

We seem to have a run of parents that believe that subbing a "y" in place of the letter "o" in an otherwise masculine name makes it "girly" (recent ones...Carsyn, Hudsyn, Dawsyn...)
No. It. Doesn't.
And if you want to give your kid a unique name then go ahead. Taking a common name and giving it a "unique" spelling just makes it a common sounding name that is spelled funny. I've seen Emily spelled about 8 million different ways by parents that thought it was "unique", but when the teacher calls it out...chances are a few other Emily's will also answer.
