What are some of the funniest names that you guys and gals have seen at work? I'll start
Twins : Roderrick and Roderricka,
Twins : Autumn and Fall
Girl : Asshole (A-sole-lee)
P.s. This thread is just for fun.....
I overheard a great debate between MOB and GMOB the other day about whether a hyphen or an apostrophe was the better choice between two syllables of a name.
That is awesome. My feeling is that if it needs a hyphen or an apostrophe, and you're not sure where it belongs or which one to use, it probably isn't a real name.
I just could not help myself from responding to this thread. The favorite patients I have had.
1. R-Eal (pronounced Ariel)
2. A'Joi Ishalbe (pronounced A Joy I Shall Be)
3. Iceeheaven ( I see heaven, which unfortunately he did)
4. Nosmo King (yes I did take care of the no smoking baby, that or else it is a common name for mothers that are drug abusers)
5. Formica Dinette (Is it a name or where she was concieved?)
If I had a dollar for every Heaven, Nevaeh, Destiny, Treasure, and Miracle I have taken care of I would be a rich woman.
I buy sticky letters to make crafty, scrapebooky nametags for the babies, who knew that I would run out of Q's and accent marks as quickly as I do!

and each parent thinks that they're the first to come up with such an original name. am i the only one who thinks that a backwards heaven is more or less hades? not a name i'd go with...
I'm not a nurse yet (so I hope it's ok to post on this thread), but I work at a criminal defense law office and OH MY GOODNESS some of the names parents give their children! My favorites so far have been Ecstasy (incidentally, I believe she was arrested for possession of her namesake), "Felicia"...unfortunately it was spelled like the...um...intimate act, except with an "a" on the end instead of an "o", and a whole family of law breakers where the dad's name was Darrell and his sons were Darrell Jr., Darrellian, and Darrellius. I wish I was joking...
oh the names u hear in the nicu. i can't remember them all. one set does stick out. boy -garik and kira from star trek. kiras not too bad.yeah- some of the posts i have heard before...... i was in nicu for 7 yrs and i miss it a lot.
okay, i must confess, my youngest daughter is named for a character from star trek voyager. the character is named kess, i just added the "a" on the end. i wonder if anyone in the nicu figured me out while she was there!?!:uhoh21:
I wish I could remember everything from the "list" we keep at work. Here are a few that I remember off the top of my head...
twin girls: Peaches & Cherry
twin boys: Elvis Aaron & Elton John
boy: Stone Cold (parents were big WWF fans (Stone Cold Steve Austin). Social work couldn't even get them to change the name)
Becky
twin boys: Elvis Aaron & Elton John
Now, as an Elvis nut, I can see why someone would want to name their child after him, but the poor kid would have a heck of an image issue, not to mention all the teasing he'd get.
There are a few folk out there named Elvis, though, presumably after the King, but who really knows. One of them my neighbor's kid. His name is Elvis Aaron also.
