Hello, everyone!
Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.
Another random question are you allowed to use a calculator on the math part of the NAT? Also where can I study for it?? I'm scheduled to take it this MOnday![/quote']Hi anestesia21,
My opinion is the information pool is too broad to pinpoint what to study. I think the most important thing is not to psych yourself out. I took it before taking chem, micro & AP 2 & I did fine.
Go in there knowing this is information you've already been taught & be confident. Good luck! :)
Thanks for replying guys, I don't know why I'm so nervous about it. I'm terrified once I'm in front of the test I'll Paralyze! It's happened to me multiple times on tests. Is there a math section? If so is it hard math? Because math is my weakness! Also should I go through basic biology or chemistry or both?
I took Chemistry already and made an A, but I'm kind of the type of person who needs refreshment of the material or I forget...I'm currently taking A&P 2 now and so far I'm doing satisfactory.
Hi Anestestia. The test isn't a hard test per say. I took twice the first time to see how it was and I did ok but the second time I scored much better. If you are taking it tomorrow you should be able to take again by the end of May before the June 1st application deadline. You can turn in both test scores and they will take the highest from each section. FSCJ has information in their website about the test and this site also has practice study guide Psychological Service Bureau (PSB) Study Guide | Learning Lab
one thing to remember about the test is try to remember as much of the science questions as possible because you will see them again if you take the test twice. Good luck.

Honestly, the worst thing you can do for any test but especially this test is to psych yourself out and get nervous. I know saying that doesn't necessarily help but you will perform a million times better if you can find a way to relax. Make sure you get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and get to the testing center early so you don't get stressed out about traffic or being late. The math is simple, I didn't solve any of it because I didn't have time. I approximated the answers in my head; I found that most of the time two wrong answers were apparent and you can figure out the right answer by thinking about the other two choices (I hope this makes sense). I don't remember much chemistry, just make sure you know your PH scale at least. Anatomy and biology are probably more important to study.
For everyone that is on the verge of insanity waiting like I am, I found this post on Summer 2013 and it made me relax a bit so I decided to share.. Oh and btw they got there letters on 2/28/13 and the year prior to that 3/7/12.. So I'm over trying to guess a date and going to just try to relax:-)

Hang in there guys! I know you probably don't want to hear this, but embrace the wait! Enjoy this last bit of time you have left! Once you get your acceptance letters (yes, they are big, white packets), all hell will break loose! And I mean that in a good way! The acceptance letter has directions of what you need to do by a certain deadline (about 3-4 weeks after the date of your acceptance) and you will find yourself running around like a crazy person trying to get it all done. We all thought waiting was the hard part too until we had to get a billion things done AFTER we got accepted! And if you plan on getting Worksource, the headache of trying to get the scholarship will begin! But it's all so exciting and worthwhile (and pricey)! Letters will probably come out when you least expect them to!

Amanda Wachter, It is 1 am and I have been off work and relaxing for about 1 hour, watching Family Guy, while consuming beer. I literally almost jumped up to sprint to my mailbox in my Stewie pajamas to check for my acceptance package. I am literally wearing Stewie pants and a Stewie shirt that says,"Victory Shall Be Mine!". I also thought about pranking the community. You are devious!
