Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!
For those who have already completed their CES application:
Were you required to send a copy of your elementary, high school, and college (non-healthcare) diploma? Did you also request a copy of your transcript from each and every school you attended until your graduation from a nursing course?
I read somewhere that if you took your high school 10 (?) years ago, you're no longer required to submit a copy? Can someone please confirm this?
Thank you very much.
Thanks Anna!
Are you working in Illinois already? I got another question. Hope you can still accommodate. There's a page near the end of the Illinois application form "Certifying Statement of Fingerprint Submission". Is this different from the fingerprint card required by the state?
Thank you.
I did not have to submit a copy of high school as it was longer than 10 years since I was at school
the certificate is different from the fingerprint card. the certificate goes to CTS while the card (with fee) goes to IDENTIX. but, you can learn more about this if you read the previous pages here. there are similar discussions on this.
for CGFNS CES, send a clear copy of your high school diploma (with English translation). it's required in CES even if you graduated more than 10 years ago.
it is advisable that transcripts from all colleges that you attended be sent to cgfns directly from the schools. don't wait for cgfns telling you to do so. no need to send grade school and high school transcripts.
read also the previous pages here.

If there is an address change, you need to notify them, both the BON for Illinois, as well as Pearson-Vue. They need to match or you will have issues with your license.
