Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?
For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:
I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.
So what do you all want to buy?
oh em gee, how much do you all think you will be making right out of school......corvettes, bmws, cruises..........im 2.5 years out of school and i am still having to plan and space out my big purchases. i did buy a new(er) car because my old one died........how much are new grads getting paid these days.......i want some of that $$$$
Don't rain on our parade ! Can we atleast dream ?

Right now, my wife and I would just like to have enough money to someday move out of our small one-bedroom apt, and possibly have enough not only to pay all the bills on time, but maybe actually go out and have some fun once in a while. But yes, I agree with you - life shouldn't be all grim doom and gloom - I look forward to when we can spend some actual money on things just for fun. So here goes
What I'd really like to do is travel more internationally. There are so many places I've never been to and this is such a big and diverse world. I've travelled a lot in Southeast Asia in the past decade (that's where I met my wife - and before the economy went real sour for everyone including me) and that's sort of given me the bug to travel the world. Places I would go that I've never been would include but not be limited to: Europe, India, Brazil, the Adriatic coastline of Croatia, some of Greek islands of the Agean including Rhodes and Crete, and I'd like to visit Israel someday too.
One thing that these hard times have taught me is not to be too hung up on "things", or to spend time accumulating them. About the only "thing" that I've thought it might be nice to have is one of those new big flat-screen high-def TV's - a big mini-theatre size one like 64" so you could watch movies or ballgames. I like the way they hang up on the wall and don't take any precious floor space. Other than that, I prefer to travel light through life and stay flexible. Like they say, never stop dreaming LOL
I graduated in May, so I'm a little late, but this is what I bought....You'll have to follow this link:

This was in June-July.....
Lord why do you need this???:chuckleDo you want to go tractor racing like in the movie "Footloose"?
I will be 24 when I graduate. I just want to be able to move into a nice apartment (right now I am still living at home). I want to be able to give back to my mom and dad. I also want to get rid of my debts...but thats going to take a while . I also have a shopping addiction, so the go shopping every once in a while would be nice. Oh yea and a nice little car, nothing fancy....I'll save that option for when I've been working for a while or maybe have a masters degree.
But for the person who asked how much new grads make...well in my area (the bay area, ca)from what I've been told, someone from my school was offered $73,000 annual salary starting. And I've also heard hired new grads make anywhere from $35-$40/ hr plus more evenings and weekends.
OH WOW where to begin.......When I finish my LPN in August, Mostly I just want to go and get my hair done and to go to the tanning bed....
A real personal trainer would really be nice........ But I don't think they have real ones in Indiana
Then I want to take my kids on vacation..... Of course not together... A week alone with each of them, I have 2
Then buy my boyfriend all of his music gear, and his truck and trailer back that he has had to sell to support me thru nursing school.
Then, in a few years when I am finished with my RN, I would like to move somewhere warm, and have a house without neighbors, and enough land that I can have a flower garden, a pool and a hottub...
