Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?
For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:
I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.
So what do you all want to buy?
... and most of all, I'd hope to win the lottery, so I wouldn't have to work or have any worries at all! THEN I'd buy a couple of new cars, a boat, a cabin somewhere, and a beach house somewhere.. yeah... that's dreaming. LOL

This thread did kind of turn into the "when I win the lottery" LOL.
I want to go to Paris - with my girl friends and eat lots of cheese, not feel guilty, and then go to the Italian Riviera and have someone bring me breakfast in bed.
I think I'm putting Paris on my list as well...I'd like to go back for a couple of weeks. The food was amazing, even the cheap casual stuff was good. A friend of mine and I would stumble back from DiscoQUEEN at 5 in the morning and stop at this hole in the wall crepe place and scarf down breakfast crepes [which may have hasted even more wonderful when drunk], then somehow make it back to our hotel [right around the corner, but it seemed like a journey at the time] and crawl into bed. Fun times. I'd also like to pop over to Versailles for a couple of days, maybe take a picnic lunch and hang out on the palace grounds and explore the gardens for a while...
Im in prereqs now, but there are SO many things I look forward to doing when I graduate. Namely, actually having a little extra money at the end of the month, paying my bills on time, paying down debt and saving. Also I'd like to take a REAL vacation. DH and I haven't had one since our honeymoon 2 years ago. Our dream right now is to take a food tour of Spain. I would also love to go to London, Ireland, and someday actually eat sushi in Japan.
As soon as I complete my RN I will be purchasing a shiney red convertable Corvette! I will be ordering it from Kentucky, visiting the plant and starting teh car for the 1st time and driving it home to sunny CA! This is my dream car and my dream job. I figure that they should go together.
(Although I am a little fearful that Chevy may not exist by the time I get there. hehehe...oh and there is always my supportive husband telling me that a Vette is pretty hard to get into with a walker! I don't care. If it takes that long I will just hire a great looking young man to be my assistant!)
first off I'm moving to washington state. no more humid summers for me, and no more living with parents! mountains and temperate rainforests with giant ferns, and other vegetarians and gay people running around. yes please.
then I'm attacking student loans (I like how the poster above put that) and definitely taking as many classes as I want.
my goal with nursing is to do something I can be proud of, to really help people, and at the same time support myself well enough to continue learning forever. I'll take cooking classes, yoga, learn to make my own clothes, maybe something interesting and fun like acupuncture or herbal medicine to compliment the nursing. maybe I'll go back and study botany and have a big beautiful garden...eventually having enough money to start a co-op with some friends would be awesome...and then just having the luxory to take language classes and have a home with a library and a fireplace and enough room for some big dogs and gardens...maybe just go crazy and build a big pretty house (with arches! and pillars! maybe even stained glass:heartbeat) and cover it with ivy and share it with friends...ooo, and music lessons. and a metric ton of candles. and those pretty fabrics from india I can never afford, to hang on the walls...oh...life will be beautiful. maybe spend half the year going to school part time and nursing part time, and the other half volunteering somewhere with Partners in Health or something like that. helping my parents pay their bills probably wouldn't hurt either. and random hiking trips all over the state and country and world, from time to time. *sigh* too bad today was my first day of class...graduation's a bit far off!
hmm it depends the restorative system called Nanoworks (which by the way is awsome) is 50 dollar per shampoo or conditioner, the hair mask is check this out 100 dollars which is nuts in my opinion, however if you were refering to regular puerology shampoo it is 25 per bottle...but you get what you pay for
O/T from OP, but wanted to say I use Pureology. You can get it at Beauty Brands much cheaper. I have also found the shampoo/conditioner combo on Amazon for less than $60--for the Nano line.
Believe it or not I can't wait to buy "fun" scrubs. We have to wear all white with a very ugly (did I happen to tell you how ugly this thing is) apron. It will be so nice to be able to wear color and to have people think of me as a nurse instead of a candy striper (OMG they haven't been around for years!!!!). Most importantly, I want to take my 2 little girls to Disney. My first was 1 y/o when I started school and my second was born last summer. I want to do something so special for those two little angels that I have to leave behind and sometimes push off onto Daddy so that I can study. The other thing that I want is to do is some serious modifications to truck. My husband and I are die hard F-150 Harley Davidson edition truck lovers. We both own one and we can't wait to get them ready to show; this is our thing and I miss doing this with him. I miss him and my girls :redpinkhe. But thank goodness I graduate in May (not the end of the road, but at least it will be the largest chunck) and I will be able to feel somewhat normal again (whatever normal may mean ) Hey these little icons are fun!!!

Well.. once I'm a nurse, I will pay off school loans and save for a home. I want one on at least an acre, somewhere warm and green.. where it doesn't snow. sigh..
I'd also like to take a long vacation - longer than 2 weeks.. that doesn't seem long enough to me.
Lastly, but not the least important, is to save, save, save.. and most of all, I'd hope to win the lottery, so I wouldn't have to work or have any worries at all! THEN I'd buy a couple of new cars, a boat, a cabin somewhere, and a beach house somewhere.. yeah... that's dreaming. LOL
