FCCJ Fall '09???

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

I got in!!!!

I live in Clay county and had either 213 or 208 depending on if they took my second year as an EMT or not.

Quick question....It says july 30th to accept, do we have to call on that date or anytime before that?

and...for uniforms it says to have them before the start of class, but the order form for meridy's says:

order/payment deadlin: Aug 18th

approximate order ship date: Sept 15th

in uniform date: sept 29th

any idea what this all means?

and congrats everybody!

You won't have clinicals until the 8th week. You don't need uniforms before then. The "deadline"s were established by meridy's so that you wouldn't complain about the wait from the date you ordered your uniforms online and the date you actually get it.

The Student Nurses Assn will have boxes of free uniforms passed down from the most recent graduating class, so if you are tight on money, don't buy your uniforms until you see if you can get a free one or not.

Does anyone know if you have to order your uniform from Meridy? or can you get a pair of white scrubs? at least the pants.

The pants, which I recommend you do, you can get from anywhere. Popular ones in my class were ones with slits at the bottom and some of the girls had flare style ones. I don't know if you will all have to buy new uniform tops or not because they have changed the name of the school as well as the patch.

I didnt get a letter and im kinda worried... i got over 200 points but what if my application was incomplete or they lost it?? im in duval county and everyone else from duval got theirs.. :(

Don't get too upset yet ladies. They may mail them out out by last name, points, county, zip code etc. My BFF's sister got her acceptance packet Saturday and she lives in Orange Park/Youngermans Cir. She applied with 196 points. Either way, they have to send an acceptance or denial letter regardless. I live in south Mandarin and haven't recieved either correspondence. The rest of us should hear something by Tuesday at the latest I'm sure. Keep your heads up, I'm sure we'll get our answers soon :)

I live near julington creek area. i just really want to find out because tuesday im going out of the country for a week and i guess if i dont get anything tomorrow i will be getting a calling card to call everyday about the mail lol. i would enjoy my trip alot more if i got a letter tomorrow :) guess we can only hope (and pray) for that letter!!

I live in Bartram Springs which is very close to julington creek and got my letter on Saturday. My friend who lives in Julington Creek has not gotten anything as of yet.

May if we all get accepted we could get together sometime and see if we could car pool. Best of Luck.

Yeah that would be cool but now im more worried about my letter. my letter is supposed to go to my dads address which is in bartram springs lol.. i just said julington creek area being broad. i live on sunbeam road. but you got yours in bartram why wouldn't i get anything?

I also didn't receive my acceptance letter on Saturday. The mailman came really late (6 pm). I live in Duval (the Intracoastal West area). So no worries. If we don't get anything Monday then we can start to panic. lol.

I had 196.2 points and did not get my letter on Saturday either. I am over at the beaches area so hopefully on Monday we will hear. They should have given more time to call about keeping spots with the way the mail works. Congrats to all that got in.

It might be that the letters are being sent by alphabetical order.

So I just called to accept and got a crazy long voicemail message. Am I supposed to wait until the day of the 30th to call, leave a message, or keep calling back until I get a person?
