Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

Congrats to everyone who has gotten in so far . I hope to be one of the lucky ones for Summer '10. I love coming here every day after work in anticipation of reading this thread.

congrats...I'm glad to see another person from Clay made it in!
and for everybody...
I know that orientation is at the North campus, but are all of the classes going to be there too? I was hoping for Kent or Deerwood.

Thanks Junebug, I think that all the classes are at north campus, but Im not positive.
Does anyone know if we have to buy the lab coat from meridy's or are we allowed to buy our own and put a patch on it?? Im just really small and dont want to look like a lil kid playing dress up lol.

For Day students, all the classes are at the north campus. For evenings/weekends...the tests are on Mondays and are at the North Campus. The classes are all at Deerwood.
I feel like I'm spamming this thread but I'm so excited!
Another quick question for you guys....I'm taking Intro to Soc. and Human Growth/Dev at the same time as the RN program (fall 09 semester) and have already signed up and paid for these classes, Mondays and Wednesdays at Kent campus. Do you guys think if this is a schedule conflict they'll work it out with me so that I can get them done with the nursing classes schedule?

To my understanding most classes are anywhere from about 8:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon (possibly earlier or later I'm not 100% positive) so I think if you took those classes in the evening at Kent then it would not conflict it would just be a difficult schedule. You could always try to take them online. I took Hum/Growth online and it did require a decent amount of work but it was not hard.
In addition to my lab coat question......Just wondering what type of stethoscope everyone is getting and blood pressure cuff?? The packet says they like the littman cardiology III, but I wonder if they were any past students that had suggestions?? Thanks for all the help!

I remember this question coming up with the Summer group, so I searched their threads and someone called and talked to a live person who told them that they are to just leave a voicemail accepting the seat.
Thanks for the heads up, I guess I wont have to call back.....
My points value wasnt even that high like the ppl who post on here.. its 195ish. But i dont know if the took my work experience as a medical secretary, that could of bumped me up with points. I was told by the adviser just to turn in a copy of my work experience, she said the worse thing they could do is not give me any points for it...
