  1. Ok, I am getting so excited for orientation! I was wondering if any past students had any suggestions about what to bring to orientation? Also, does anyone know which hospitals are on the list of clinical sites? Thanks:)
  2. cookie09, you get the polos at orientation. when I called they told me that I didnt need to order one or anything, they were just going to bring them and sell them at orientation.
  3. sorry, Tiara I didn't know you meant the school gave them out, all of this is just really confusing so I was just giving the info. I had. I didnt mean to offend you in any way.
  4. Im not sure when we have to get the id for, but to get the skills kit you have to go to stat line which is on haines street, the address is in the packet. Its kinda scary and doesnt look like it would have medical supplies, but it does lol. Just look for a bunch of old, broken ambulances parked inside some really tall chain link fencing. I guess if your in the day program it just doesnt say anything, but if you are in night/weekend then it specifies. Im pretty sure Im in the day program b/c mine didnt specify, but I put on my app that I only wanted days.
  5. Just to let everyone know THE SKILLS KITS ARE IN, but they only have 35 so hurry to get them!! Also, I know someone was talking about them giving away skills kits at orientation, but that is not true, I asked the lady there and she said they are not going to orientation and looked pretty puzzled about my question. So get yours before they run out. I got mine today and it has all kinds of cool things in it like things for doing an iv and needles. I feel bad for the guys though because they come in various styles of bags and they are all pretty girly. Does anyone know if they make ID's at Kent campus??
  6. Congrats hgerun5!!! I know it all seems so stressful, but it you have a couple days off you can get it done, just start NOW lol. Order everything, make appointments, and have fun at your bf graduation!
  7. Yes you do have to get at least your scrub top, lap coat, and namepin from meridys...and Im only 4'11 so Im sure it will all swallow me too lol:) Don't worry we all have to wear the same thing:) And also I called the polo place and they said they will be selling them at orientation only.
  8. Hey secdegreemom, Thanks for starting a new thread! I can't wait to start and meet everyone. I have some info and some questions..... I bought my white pants at the uniform outlet too, the one on Blanding, they have lots of brands and styles in white. I bought a littman II classic se stethoscope at medisave.com and I bought my hemostat, bandage scissors, and bp cuff at allheart.com (they have really good pricing). Just a tip---I called to see if it was possible if I could get my physical the 6th of August and they said NO, you have to wait until the 7th so dont get it early! And also make sure when you do your PPD(tuberculosis screen) the place will be open in 24 hours so you can go back to rechecked. Question:What hospitals are you thinking about doing clinicals at?? I dont know which are good? Also, does anyone know the names of some good professors?
  9. In addition to my lab coat question......Just wondering what type of stethoscope everyone is getting and blood pressure cuff?? The packet says they like the littman cardiology III, but I wonder if they were any past students that had suggestions?? Thanks for all the help!
  10. Thanks Junebug, I think that all the classes are at north campus, but Im not positive. Does anyone know if we have to buy the lab coat from meridy's or are we allowed to buy our own and put a patch on it?? Im just really small and dont want to look like a lil kid playing dress up lol.
  11. I got my letter today and IM IN!! Im so excited and relieved! I applied with 216 points and live in Clay in case anyone wants to know. I cant wait to get started and meet all of you! crtm0924 I dont think we have to buy the uniforms just yet. Ive heard they give out some free uniforms from the last class at orientation, so you could wait until then because you dont have to order until the 18th.
  12. Congratulations everyone!!! :anpom: I didnt get my letter yet but I hope I will join all of you soon!! Junebug if you are right about getting 213 points and living in Clay I should be in since I applied with 216 points!! I just cant wait to get my letter to confirm! I hope Im in and will get to meet all of you guys soon!
  13. If anyone finds out what the points cutoff is for outside counties or know someone's points that got in please post it on here, I won't get my letter until at least Monday and Im goin crazy!!
  14. TiaraRN2010 what county do you live in??
  15. Hey kaoskat, are you in ***** hybrid Micro class?? If so, good job on that test, I got an 87:/ but anyways I'm the short girl that always wears the pink scrubs to class if you are in the same class as me. && I know I hope those letters come soon, Ive heard about the long list of tasks we have to accomplish before orientation.
