What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

Every now and then someone creates a new account so they can be "brand new" and still spout the same garbage no one wanted to hear under their previous username. Other times it's clear that someone is doing it to appear to have a more popular opinion on a topic (even if they have to create the equivalent of Online Dissociative Disorder to do it).

There are wackos everywhere! :D

RedKryptoniteCNA aptly called this creating a "shell account" in another thread.

I graduated with all A's, and I was the first in my class. Oh, and I had all honor classes. I'm naturally talented when it comes to education BUT I just cannot pass the NCLEX. I just want to be a nurse and practice. It doesn't matter if my practice is safe or not because I know this is what I was meant to do. That's what really matters.

We called this creating a sock puppet on another board.

We called this creating a sock puppet on another board.

Years ago, on a different board site, I remember when we (regulars) figured out we had a real psycho on our hands: posting under various names, pretending to be new, pretending to be a certain ethnicity, pretending to be of a different background than an alter-ego, pretending to be a different gender even. Totally warped.

Eventually someone put all the pieces together and blew THAT mess outta the water :wideyed:

I've always referred to it as a sock or sock puppet. A lot of times, the "sock" is talking to themselves. I have run into a lot of a socks. Happens on political boards a lot.

The one I'm thinking about was on a parenting board; this nutcase had one login that was a single mother, another login that was pregnant with her first baby, another login was grieving loss through miscarriage....and even one login (that we knew of) who was a father of a set of twins, his wife having been killed in a car crash (sympathy trolling, Munchaussen's, whatever). Truly sick.

And my guess is that even though discovered and banned.....he/she found another online place to be, with people who didn't suspect the truth---yet.

Even with all this sickness out there, we still have people here who post full names, workplaces, names of employers, email addresses, PHONE numbers. Truly clueless!

There's some serious psych issues happening there

No kidding! Thing is, there are far too many people who put far too much stock in "friends" online, people they think they "know" and they just don't. Some of these kids think people like me are just being paranoid, LOL, but I KNOW what's out there! :wideyed:

^^^^LOL..REALLY???

Yes, we started about the same time and I know who you are. ;)

This is a great thread and I just sat here for 30 minutes reading it and forgot to put the laundry in the dryer so I can go to work with clean clothes.

I will say that the "Help" threads always make me look. I want to say why but I'm hesitant to share but VivaLasViejas and I came upon a thread when we first started that had to be reported ASAP. It was either a hoax or real.

I truly enjoyed the anti-vaxxer thread as I got to see that so many nurses here are well educated and informative and kept trying to educate that one particular anti-vaxxer. In fact, the thread got a bit boring when she would go off in a huff and say she was done with it!

:lol2:

And then come back . . . . ;)
