New RN Pay in Philadelphia, PA

  1. I'm a new GN as of last week. I am begining my job search and am wondering what is considered a fair wage for a new RN? I was hoping to gain insight as to what a new RN makes in the Philadelphia area. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

No, i dont believe so. Last i heard it was ~$28 for a new grad there. But with experience, I believe Penn is the highest paying in the area so it would be nice to start and stay there. Jefferson is paying 27 and some cents for newbies.

Seems like 27-28 is the going rate in the area.

I understand that at HUP there's a big jump in salary after the first year. I would assume that is also pretty standard in the area.

OH, ok! Did you hear how much of a jump or about how much after the 1st year........

I just double checked with my source and it was $4/hr. That's the difference between Clinical Nurse I and Clinical Nurse II.

How much is a new grad from Drexel with a BSN on average make an hour or annually? Is it difficult to find a job as a new grad in Philadelphia? What is the cost of living in Philly?
