Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
I will be picking up my packet on Monday. ( I was one of the people that the nursing dept. had contacted to see if I was still interested in the program because of seats available)--I am trying not to psych myself out being that I only have X amount of days to get everything together. I was wondering where to get the background check--etc. I am also planning to get my titers, etc. at the clinic in northside.
Can anyone give me the address to that clinic?
Ms. James had given me the option of going to Baptist in Nassau ( Fernandina) or Memorial. I chose Memorial since it's closer. I was wondering when we will start clinicals..and if we will be rotated to other facilities?
By the way, for all you mothers out there, especially-working moms who are also juggling with school..( I have a 3 yr. old) I have to hand it to you all !

Just look up Northside Medical Clinic in google. That's the one most of us went to and the place you have to take the drug test. One of the background checks is online, you pay for it, submit it to them and fax a form to them. The other one is a fingerprinting thing downtown. You can also go online to book the appointment for that.
If you are gonna pick up your packet Monday, you won't be far from the clinic. I would pick up the form for the drug test at the same time, then just go over to the clinic. It seemed to me that the Medical stuff took the longest to accomplish since you have to go back two days later to check the tb test.
You're also gonna want to get the polo shirt and a pair of khakis before the 25th of August because we have to wear them then. Most of this info is in the packet.
You guys that got into the program without Microbiology grades are my heros!!

Thanks for the info!
That's my game plan, to try to do as much as I can on Monday. My hubby is even taking off work just so he could drive me around :)
Anyway, I am so excited. I could hardly go to sleep and I have to work doubles this weekend. I just typed up my resignation though :) The payment deadline is Aug 14th right? Do we have to pay the full tuition?
Okay...so that Dosage Calc book is going with me everywhere. I got through chapter one already. I'm making sure I have all the easy stuff down. The packets are sooo helpful!! Anyways I'm off to bed..early morning. Good night ladies!!
GOOD NIGHT LADIES????!!!!
How about GOOD NIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMAN? LoL. Jk.
I still havent registered for classes yet, because I spent the last few days partying and getting up at 2pm. I figured I wouldnt be able to do this stuff for 16 months, so why not, right?
Definitely go to Northside Med Clinic. Their stuff is cheap and its fast. Just allow for 2 days turnaround on your stuff.
