Hi guys. I'm new to posting but I've been a long time lurker. I just wanted to know if anyone is in or is planning to attend Farmingdale State College. I want to go there but I want to know some more information about it. What are the pre-reqs for the LPN program? What is the lowest composite score that they look at? All other schools tell you this but I can't find that info anywhere on Farmingdale's website. I'm currently studying for the exam (even though I have NO IDEA when the next PAX-PN test is being given in NY). I got a B in Psych and also a B is English. I have to re-take A&P1 in the Fall because I didn't do so well in it. I'm trying my hardest to get an A in it so that they'll at least consider me for the program. I'm sorry for the long post but I'm just panicking because I have no clue what I'm really doing lol. I'd love if anyone/everyone could help me out. What other pre-reqs do I need for the PN program? Is it really hard to get into? I'm pretty much freaking out about....EVERYTHING:banghead:. I just don't feel like I'm doing enough. Seriously, do you all think I have a good shot at getting in with the grades I stated above?
Hey everyone....just wanted to congratulate everyone who got in! Unfortunately I did not get in to Farmingdale but I did get in to Nassau so I'm happy about that.
Just had my orientation last weeks and got my uniform, book, and supply list.
They gave us our schedules and I will be doing clinicals at Glen Cove Hospital.
I was really upset that I didnt get in to Farmingdale but I am glad atleast I got accepted to Nassau...good luck to everyone
YAY Kuklara!!!!!!!! You have been working so hard to get in for so long and you did it! So happy for you. You will be happy at Nassau dont worry. Must have felt good to order that uniform. Good for you! Good luck, the stress of getting in is over, but the stress of nursing school will now begin. Keep on just as strong as you've been. You will do very well your very dedicated!
Kuklara511, I just got my letter and I have orientation on June 15th. I was wondering if you are an evening or day student. If you can, please email me privately at [email protected]
That's okay. I was accepted to both Nassau and Farmingdale's RN program. I was trying to decide which one to go to, but I knew nothing about Nassau's program.
I love Farmingdale because it is a 4 yr college and I can continue on into the BSN afterwards. So what's up with Nassau?
Congrats to you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I graduated from NYIT with a BS in Elementary Education. I was a teacher for a few years, and now Im returning to Farmingdale for a career change. The orientation I heard is on April 17th from 9-3 to choose a clinic site and get a handbook.
Congrats,Bella !!!! What was your gpa and test score ? Im thinking of applying to Farmingdale. Oh and are you in the BSN or ADN program ?
Hello to my fellow future Farmingdale nursing students!
I have a question - Is anyone interested in switching clinical times with me? I just found out my work schedule is changing because we have an employee going on maternity leave. I am currently enrolled in NUR108H HUN (90784) which meets Tues 3:00-5:00pm & Wednesdays 7:00-3:00pm.
I would need to change my time(s)/locations to ANY of the locations that meet Tues 5:00-7:00pm & Wednesdays 5:00-11:59pm instead.
I was one of the first ten people to register so I am hoping someone else out there may prefer the day shift for Wednesday and we could switch. If you're interested please email me at [email protected]
THANK YOU!!
Best Wishes & Congrats to everyone. :-)
Does anyone have any information in regards to the Farmingdale uniforms? I know for lab we are supposed to wear green - but do we also have to wear the nursing shoes we bought - or are sneakers fine?Thank you! :)
I'm not sure if we're allowed to wear sneakers with our scrubs, but one of the secretaries in the nursing department told me that we don't have to wear our scrubs until our professors tell us to wear them. Hope this helps :)

Has anyone here finished their AS in NCC and transferred to Farmingdale for BS? I was wondering how many nursing credits you can transfer from NCC to Farmingdale that way. I am pretty sure i will be able to get into NCC program, but i want to go to BS later(probably Farmingdale). So i was thinking is it better to try to get into Farmingdale AS because i will have more credits counting toward my BS? thanks
