Hi guys. I'm new to posting but I've been a long time lurker. I just wanted to know if anyone is in or is planning to attend Farmingdale State College. I want to go there but I want to know some more information about it. What are the pre-reqs for the LPN program? What is the lowest composite score that they look at? All other schools tell you this but I can't find that info anywhere on Farmingdale's website. I'm currently studying for the exam (even though I have NO IDEA when the next PAX-PN test is being given in NY). I got a B in Psych and also a B is English. I have to re-take A&P1 in the Fall because I didn't do so well in it. I'm trying my hardest to get an A in it so that they'll at least consider me for the program. I'm sorry for the long post but I'm just panicking because I have no clue what I'm really doing lol. I'd love if anyone/everyone could help me out. What other pre-reqs do I need for the PN program? Is it really hard to get into? I'm pretty much freaking out about....EVERYTHING:banghead:. I just don't feel like I'm doing enough. Seriously, do you all think I have a good shot at getting in with the grades I stated above?
Hi, all.
I just wanted to say hello and update this thread a bit, since it's been quiet for a while. I just took the NLN Pax-RN yesterday, and I scored 99/87/99 percentiles and have a 4.0 gpa so I'm pretty certain that I'll be accepted to the LPN-to-RN articulation program, which starts this summer.
I'm so excited, and I can't wait to get my letter. From reading the posts here, it seems that I should be notified fairly fast. I've been finishing my pre-reqs at Suffolk, and I've applied to their program for the Fall also, but I'll be very happy to get started sooner and finished quicker at Farmingdale.
Would love to hear from others who might be starting with me.
You have to apply first, and once you've applied, they will notify you as to whether or not you are a candidate to take the NLN based on your GPA and your pre-requisites. The deadline to apply has been extended to January 31st, so you should apply as soon as possible so that you can take the test early. They do rolling admissions, and seats fill up quickly.

Hey ! I took PAX-RN on the 22nd too! I applied to the associates degree program for the fall. I scored a 149 composite score on the PAX... I wish i knew what kind of scores Farmingdale usually accepts. Waiting to find out if i got in is torture...i just want to know already! haha I hope i dont have to wait until March to find out, i think ill go nuts by then lol
VF11, congrats on doing well on the PAX. My composite was 150. They are much more interested in the percentiles though. That in combination with your GPA is how they decide on acceptance. The day of the exam they said that that the minimum percentiles they accepted were 77 in verbal/80 in math/80 in science. Anything below that was automatic rejection by the Nursing Department. The higher you are above those minimum percentiles, the better your chance of acceptance.
Good Luck and let us know when you get your answer.

Does anyone here finished their AS in NCC and then went to Farmingdale for BS? Just curious how many nursing credits did Farmingdale accepted from NCC? Thanks!
