To all of you who are waiting or waitlisted, I've been following the thread even though it no longer applies to me. I feel so bad for you all. I was in the same position last semester waiting to find out if I would get into the Spring 2011 class. The waiting was unbearable, and then I was waitlisted. I was heartbroken and angry. I had and still have a 4.0 gpa, and I read stories of people getting in with much lower grades. I decided at that time that I had to apply to Farmingdale also because there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how they choose who gets in and who does not. I did get accepted to Suffolk for the Fall, but I'm going to Farmingdale in the end. Hang in there guys, and don't let a waitlist decision or denial make you second guess your goals. I promise, there are better days ahead. Good luck :)

Earb, did you also have to take English Lit? They're not accepting my CLEP credit for that class.

FYI, guys, I was waitlisted for Spring 2011 with a 4.0, and accepted for Fall 2011. I can't speak to people lying about their GPA, but I think there is more to their decision making than just grades. Don't forget that a certain number of seats are set aside for people who work in facilities already.

Admission to the program is based on your scores on the PAX. Everyone has to take it. The Farmingdale website has a lot of information about what they require, and they give information seminars every Wednesday, I believe. If you attend one of those, they answer all of your questions.

You need to apply to the program first by the end of December. Then they tell you if you should take the PAX RN.

If I didn't already have my answer from Farmingdale, I would just pay the $100. It's too risky to not pay it. "Cowboy up!" I love it.

Buckaroo, the envelope I got from SCCC was a regular letter-sized envelope, but very full. As far as the website goes, there is nothing that says you're accepted. I got my letter, and if I look at the admissions tab under student records, it says "not entered." I'm sure you'll hear something soon. Just hang tight.

Hi, guys. I got my letter of acceptance for the LPN to RN program at SCCC. I've already decided to go to Farmingdale though. It just makes better sense because I can be graduated by May 2012 as opposed to December or May '13. Congrats to you all who have gotten your letters, and to those that haven't gotten them yet, relax, they are on their way. Good luck to everyone and congrats:yeah:

Thanks, Buckaroo! No, actually, it's a summer start for me because I'm going in as an LPN, and I have advanced standing. I will go through the summer as a catch up, and then in the fall I believe I will be in with the second year students.

i got the call yesterday, and i am officially accepted to farmingdale for the rn program!

VF11, congrats on doing well on the PAX. My composite was 150. They are much more interested in the percentiles though. That in combination with your GPA is how they decide on acceptance. The day of the exam they said that that the minimum percentiles they accepted were 77 in verbal/80 in math/80 in science. Anything below that was automatic rejection by the Nursing Department. The higher you are above those minimum percentiles, the better your chance of acceptance. Good Luck and let us know when you get your answer.

I took the test 1/22 (this past Saturday), and I scored in the 99th percentile in Verbal and Science and the 92nd for DI, the 88th for AD and the 87th for All in Math. The NLN Review book was awesome, and I highly recommend it for studying up for the test. I studied almost every day for 3 weeks, and it paid off.

They want you to have A & P II complete, but don't quote me. Go to one of their info sessions. They have them on Wednesdays in the morning. You can get the answers directly from them. Good luck!

You have to apply first, and once you've applied, they will notify you as to whether or not you are a candidate to take the NLN based on your GPA and your pre-requisites. The deadline to apply has been extended to January 31st, so you should apply as soon as possible so that you can take the test early. They do rolling admissions, and seats fill up quickly.
