How many of you are there? What's next for you? I've just registered for classes. We only have one set of clinicals in the first semester. It's adult care 1. Other than that we have assessment and fundamentals. I need to get my physical and get tested to see if I still have immunity from previous vaccines. If not, I get to be a pin cushion for a little while :) Other than that, I have to figure out how I'm going to pay for school now that I'm taking on twice the tuition bill transferring to a university. I'm applying to two hospitals to see if I can get in their scholarship and service programs. This is a super busy month!

I am going to Western Illinois University...I forgot to put that on my other post!

I'm curious to know if anyone has experience using IPads/tablets in a classroom setting? From what I hear, downloading textbooks is much cheaper than purchacing hard copies and updates are available at no additional charge. In your opinion, would this expence be worth the investment. Any experienced insight will be greatly appreciated, thanx.

I start in the Fall too, and I dont know of anyone using ipads in class, but I did not opt for the online book registry. I would rather have all hard cover books. that way, you can have a bunch of books open at the same time on a large table. with a computer, you have to keep switching views. Seems harder to go from one to another looking for information.

granted it IS cheaper, but I would rather pay the extra $ and have it easier on me. Also with regard to powerpoints or other docs, I would rather have them on paper than on the computer. But thats just me :)

I recieved my letter last week. I am happy, but trying not to be depressed about moving to such a small town for 16 months :(

I wonder if there's anyone out there who understands how I feel. But yes, I'm excited and congratulations to everyone.

i just got my letter last week that i've been accepted to a BSN program!! congrats to everyone!

i'm sooo super duper excited!! i've been bouncing off the walls since

@nursingstundent - i understand how you feel.. i might potentially have to move to a small town and i am 100% big city girl.. i'm still waiting to hear back from 4 schools in my area and if even one of them accept me then i won't have to move

Hi all I too am starting this fall so excited I register for courses on the 11h of MAY:)))))

That's really nice! Some hospitals in my area require that you pay dues to be a volunteer! Forget about them paying for anything.

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! I got accept too! I start in 1.5 weeks!!! :yeah: I am taking drug dosage and calculations, intro to nursing, and health assessment this summer, and nursing 111 in the fall. Good luck everyone!

Specializes in critical care.

So I've started my titers and immunizations. Dude. tdap hurts. (on a strange note, my iPhone autocorrected titers to titters. What is titters?)

We have orientation with the NSO next Wednesday. In the meantime, I graduate from my community college on Tuesday!

I'm almost half way through my CNA cert. My lab instructor is fresh out of the army. I don't like her at all. She drills. Not only do I not learn well that way, but I feel like I unlearn because I'm anxious over potentially getting singled out and made an example of. I think I underestimated how much my performance would suck with her over my shoulder. I'm in for a long and painful experience in nursing school if I can't shake the nerves in situations like that.

You will do fine. I think it's just matter of learning to grin and bear it. You're going to run into a lot of stressful situations like that were people are rude, mean, and down right hateful but the positive thing is that you will run into MORE people that are sweet, compassionate, and apprecative of what you do and that will make it all worth it! Good luck with everything.

Thank you! I'm certain that is the truth. I'm used to being awesome at things and not second guessing myself. A little confidence goes a long way, huh?
