Nursing Students General Students

How many of you are there? What's next for you? I've just registered for classes. We only have one set of clinicals in the first semester. It's adult care 1. Other than that we have assessment and fundamentals. I need to get my physical and get tested to see if I still have immunity from previous vaccines. If not, I get to be a pin cushion for a little while :) Other than that, I have to figure out how I'm going to pay for school now that I'm taking on twice the tuition bill transferring to a university. I'm applying to two hospitals to see if I can get in their scholarship and service programs. This is a super busy month!

I received my acceptance letter last week to a BSN program!! I can't wait until orientation--then I'll know exactly what I need to buy :nurse:

Congrats to you all :w00t:

@nursetabitha, that is exactly what I did! Thank the stars for smartphones and iPads. Did you download any NCLEX apps?

@chesccrp, yep, I downloaded all the free NCLEX apps even the ones for RN (I will be taking the PN exam first). I've already learned a ton by practicing using common sense to answer the questions and then looking at the explanation. I'm getting half of them right just using common sense, and learning so much along the way. It's awesome! A great head start in my opinion. I also went to my library and got all the nursing and anatomy books I could find to read.

Good for you! some of the people who applied to the same school I got accepted to were ****** they didn't get accepted and decided they would NOT attend even if they got pulled from the waiting list. I tried to explain to them that it wasn't personal-just a numbers game but they were persistent that if the school didn't want them-they didn't want the school.... just seemed like they were cutting off their nose to spite their face to me (i felt bad all the same).

I'm starting my BSN classes this June. First up, an 8 week summer semester of Pathophysiology, Pharm I and Professional Nursing Concepts. Seems like a lot for an 8 week summer semester, but I'm totally up for it! Hey! I have no choice, so I have to be! But I am so excited about the whole thing! :) ... And if anyone out there has any advice regarding these 3 classes, I'm open to it :)

Me too I am taking pathophysiology, nutrition ( I guess my old one is to old) and nursing concepts I can't wait to get started!

I was just accepted into Cleveland State's nursing program for fall 2012 and I couldn't be happier!! I'm so happy for everyone who got in and hopefully we can support each other during this time of difficulty and stress. Good luck to everyone!

I recently got accepted into my local community college's ADN program and am so excited!! I am also taking Pharmacology and Nutrition courses this summer to ease my load a bit in the fall. Can't wait to start! I've been busy buying all of my supplies for the fall -- all-white (!!!) scrubs, lab coat, shoes, etc. Waiting on the the book list to be released so I can begin bargain shopping for those too. Good luck to everyone and congratulations!

I start fall 2012. So far I have sent in my intent to attend letter, scheduled titer tests (it took for ever to find a Dr that takes my insurance) and started a summer pathophysiology course. I still have to renew my BLS, get a physical and order scrub bottoms (I can use my tops from my CNA job!) My patho course is 5 credits and is supposed to be 20-25 hours a week so I will probalby just work part time this summer.

I will be starting in the Fall, too! I won't find out specific course/clinical info until my orientation on July 17th, but right now I'm working on completing my background check (getting my fingerprints rolled tomorrow and that should finish it) and health requirements (my titer came back positive for everything, so now I just have to have one more TB screening in June). As for the uniforms, from what I understand after stalking the website, we wear dark blue scrubs with the Jefferson patches while we're at our clinical sites, and white lab clothes over professional clothes while we're in our classes. I'm so excited! Congrats to everyone who was accepted for the Fall!!! :-)

Congrats! I start Jefferson in the fall as well, pre licensure BSN class. What class are you in?

I submitted my application two weeks ago. I hope to hear good news within a month. The deadline closes 5/15. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted.

Good luck! I hope you get accepted!
