How many of you are there? What's next for you? I've just registered for classes. We only have one set of clinicals in the first semester. It's adult care 1. Other than that we have assessment and fundamentals. I need to get my physical and get tested to see if I still have immunity from previous vaccines. If not, I get to be a pin cushion for a little while :) Other than that, I have to figure out how I'm going to pay for school now that I'm taking on twice the tuition bill transferring to a university. I'm applying to two hospitals to see if I can get in their scholarship and service programs. This is a super busy month!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I got my acceptance letter to UWM/UWP consortial program a little over a month ago. About time I got into a program...this was my third year applying to a one (2 tries at Iowa, 1 try here) and I don't know what I would've done if I didn't get in. I already hate that it is taking my 5 years to finish my undergrad instead of 4. I still have to get all my titers, TB test, and physical. I'm taking one last humanities gen ed. Bought myself the Saunders NCLEX Review and got my patho book and study guide to start paging through. This fall I'll have patho I, health promotion, assessment, funds. of clinical I, and gero theory.

I'm a bit nervous for clinicals though because I don't have my CNA, nor do I really care to get it. Probably a bad mentality but even though everyone says having it is a huge help, most of my friends who have it hate their job and the places they work. I'll just keep my job that I love going to.

I just got my acceptance letter yesterday, and I am soooo excited! A huge congrats to everyone who made it in!

Specializes in Neonatal ICU.
Congrats! I start Jefferson in the fall as well, pre licensure BSN class. What class are you in?
Yay, I love finding new Jefferson students on here!!! :-) Congrats to you, too! I'm in the pre-licensure APW program. I'm pretty sure that pre-licensure APW & BSN students take most classes together, so we'll probably be seeing each other a lot! I hope to see you at orientation on July 17th!
Specializes in Surgical/Trauma ICU.

Woo hooooooo!! I'm starting Fall as well :) It's about time, I finished all of my prerequisites in the Fall of 2009!!! I bounced around for a little bit trying to decide what to do with myself before going to nursing school (I was only 18 back then!!) I feel like it was so long ago I've been on the waitlist for this program since Fall 2010... FINALLY!

I have orientation June 1st (so excited) and I know that our uniform is royal blue scrubs with a school patch on the sleeve and white shoes. I'm so excited and I only live 8 blocks from the nursing school campus! I'm finishing up a few of the nursing program prereqs this semester (lifespan psychology, communication and pharmacology) so hopefully that will lighten the first semester load a tad.

Anyways.... I've got to get back to studying for my pharmacology exam on Monday afternoon, I've been procrastinating all week. It doesn't help that I recently discovered Scrubs is on Netflix instant-video and boy am I having a hard time focusing for this midterm AKKK! If anyone has any motivation this weekend, please send it my way; over a hundred drugs plus theory my brain needs to absorb. Oh and I'm working tomorrow and sunday night, hah, go me! Brain - please become extra spongey this weekend and retain all of this info! Okay I'm done ranting.

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!!! See you on the other side of the NCLEX!

Thanks, yes I will be there. We will have all, but three classes together if I remember correctly from the accepted students orientation in March. I can't wait to get started. TTYL

Specializes in CNA.

So pumped for my orientation may 30th! I have so much to get done! Such as my physical and titters, uniforms, books, and a bunch of other stuff I can't think of cause there is just so much to do! I've been done with my pre-reqs and co-reqs since last December and I've been taking classes related to nursing just to stay in school. I'm finishing up the spring semester this week and I'm kinda wishing the Summer away to start school in the fall.... I will prolly regret saying.. Anyways! I plan on keeping my 24hrs at the hospital as a CNA cause it truly benefits me! The nurses I work with are great and they are always teaching me! It's gonna be hard going to lect/clinical all day then an 8hr shift at the hospital... But It's manageable.. I'll be practically living at the hospital!

Congrats to everyone being accepted! And to those wait listed don't give up! Keep trying! It took me an extra year to get in because I didn't have one of my classes done to apply! Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations on your acceptance! I will also begin classes in Fall 2012 and I'm diligently preparing all of the paperwork, doctor's appointments and titers'. I used to be so nervous about whether or not I would get accepted, now I'm killing myself over whether or not I'm completing all requirements on time. :) Good luck to everyone!!

ProudStudent,

I'm right there with you on whether or not I'm getting all the paperwork finished and turned in on time.

Thinking out loud here:

I've finished my physical, other than getting a signature from my psychiatrist saying I'm good to go thru with nursing.

I've gotten all of my shot records except for my titers (which I know they drew last year on me)

I've still gotta get my last hep. B shot.

I've still gotta renew my BLS.

I've already got my CNA 1 certification.

And I think that's it.

Congrats! I start this fall too, and im trying to figure out how i'm going to pay for everything as well.

Specializes in Forensic Psych.

Congrats everyone! I was accepted to Lone

Star College's ADN program and I'm super excited to start! Tomorrow is orientation and I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve :-)

This summer I'm taking Pharmacology, Nursing Skills 1, and Statistics, then going into full swing in the fall!

I start Fall 2012 also! I got accepted in to Tyler Junior college. It was my third time applying, I was super excited, I went running through the house. I can't wait to start!!

I received my letter two days ago! I start the 3 year BSN program at Indiana University East this fall! I've got two years of pre-reqs finished and I'm excited to finally start the program! Congratulations to all of us! :)
